Has anyone experienced continuous nausea every day? Also, now i have red blotches/spots on my face. Also, can you feel absolutely great a week and then the next few weeks feel absolutely horrible? Have gotten 3 months of IV Zithromax and will get two more and then every month. Should I ask for weekly to continue? Thanks so much for your responses. It means a lot and helps me cope.

I had continuous nausea 24/7 for the last 3 months before I got my lyme disease diagnosis. So, yes, lyme and coinfections can cause continual nausea.

It is very common for lyme to come in episodes in the beginning. The first 5 years I had lyme, it was like this for me. My episodes were longer than yours, but it was like a switch was turned on and then turned off.

One day I would wake up sick and be sick until the day I woke up totally well. It was hard to believe this was really happening to me.

Lyme is famous for the "on again, off again" thing.

I don't know how long you have had lyme disease, but if you think you could have had it for at least a year, then you need to stay in treatment for at least 2 months past the symptom free point. Likely, you will need many months of treatment.

Also, are you seeing a lyme doctor for your treatment? If all you are on is IV zith, that is not typical lyme treatment at all.

Why not read the Burrascano Guidelines and learn about lyme treatment from the lyme disease pioneer and world famous lyme doctor. THe document is here:

http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

A list of meds and dosages starts on page 18.

The most common IV lyme treatment is Rocephin given twice per day, 4 days per week. Here is a quote from Burrascano regarding the IV meds:

"PARENTERAL THERAPY
Ceftriaxone- Risk of biliary sludging (therefore often Actigall is co-administered- one to three tablets daily).
Adults and pregnancy: 2g q12 h, 4 days in a row each week" (page 18)

So, here he recommends 2 grams of Rocephin every 12 hours, 4 days in a row each week.
