Had my husband take Igenex lab work back May 25th
End of June had him call his PCP to see if got results..."not yet"
After the 4th of July called again, "not yet" so called Igenex...told would fax.
Today July 27th still no results so called Igenex...told they will fax a form for Dr. to sign then will fax report to doctor.
What the heck? Didn't they send report hard copy to doctor? What's up? You gotta have doctor fill the darn form in order to get test done so the fax is rightr on w/the office info.
Of course it was my husband talking (nicely) where as I'd be alittle more aggressive.
Anyone else have these bizarre requirements/issues?

Yes, Igenx had to fax mine 4 times to get it to show up at the doctor's office. Not sure why, but IGenx was very nice about it & eventually had to fax it from another machine before it finally went through. Maybe you should ask them to do that. If your doc isn't very positive about you having him order the test, maybe he's just not calling you back with the results...my doc didn't even want to deal with my results, but instead just told me to call Igenx to interpret it (after he said my results meant nothing.,..wrong!)

Hi, that's a long time to wait for your test results!! Mine was back under two weeks. Results were emailed to my LLNP who then called me at home that evening and forwarded the email w/ the results to me.
I think you need to harass your LLMD to get the results for you since Igenex will not release the results to the patients!
We're getting our daughter tested now and all our LLMD info are on the lab slip so Igenex will know exactly where to email the results to... so I don't understand what papers they want the ordering physician to fill out?! You need to ask them clearly what is the hold up! No way I would be that patient!

yep, sure is long. Igenex didn't even send hard-copy which is the gist of what he heard.
His pcp is part of a HUGE statewide corp of physcians who are anti-lyme. The "we can test here." yea, right ...test with quest or collabotative. hummph
justthat you'd think, Igenex knows MDs hate/discount Igenex...do they (igenex) think this helps.
We/he spent lots of money, & got receipt end of June & got an over payment refund on July 6th.
Apparently the accounting, money end of business works fine.
Thanks for reponses..After YEARS of me saying for him to get tested..I should have looked into Clogen Lab.
Or made his PCP order a CD57 from Labcorp.
If we ever find out I'll let the board know the results.
Have a sparkling evening.

This isn't typical at all. Generally, the doctor has the results within 2 1/2 to 3 weeks.
The lyme docs know this and schedule your second appt based on when they know the Igenex results will be in. And, the results are always there, no problem.
Since 2 parties are involved (your doc and Igenex), you don't know where the problem lies. If your PCP's office lost the Igenex report, it may be that Igenex makes the doc's office sign something claiming that they never got the written report before they go to the added expense of having staff now fax the report to that same doctor.
I know doctors' offices sometimes lose mail and faxes. I'm going through the same thing with a specialist's office (not lyme) right now. It's been almost 2 months since hubby had a test done and it wasn't in his file when we had out followup with the doc last week. I am the one calling Quest and finding out they faxed the result the day after the blood draw. I am the one asking Quest to fax the results to the doctor again. Then, I am the one calling the doc's office and asking that they mail a copy to me--they transfer me to Medical Records and I have to ask there all over again.
So, maybe after 2 months we will finally get the results of this test that I am anxious to see.
I expect a doctor's staff to check the patient's file and get all test results prior to the appointment. But, that isn't happening for us lately. It didn't happen with hubby's doctor and it didn't happen with my gyn's office this week either.
I had to call my lab to tell them doc's office didn't have results. Turns out the lab had a glitch in my case. ("The report was transcribed but never uploaded into our system. Sorry about that.")
Oh, well. We just have had 2 glitches with labs in 1 week, it seems. I don't know if vacations are having anything to do with this or what!

I had to beg three non LLD's to sign the paperwork and pull the blood for me. I took the blood/kit home for FedEx pickup. This last time was a hassle to get the results. I had tried to make everything as easy as possible for the offices to work with me. As in all they had to do was sign, pull blood and the results would be sent to them by fax and/or mail. I think this year Igenex must have implemented an extra step before faxing the results to the doctor - which I was not aware of or had prepared the office for. Regardless if the doctor's fax number is wriiten on the form - Igenex appears to want to verify it by sending a test fax first - that the doctor's office has to sign and fax back. Wondering why my results not arriving at the doctor's office and after back and forth calls with Igenex and doc office - the latter said they never received the "confirm the fax" fax. Igenex insisted they sent it. I asked them to send it again. Eventually the office got it - signed it - and I arrived next appointment hoping to see my results. Somehow it was only one page. We had to call Igenex whie I was there for them to refax. Finally got them. The Igenex staff did not seem helpful throughout this. The doctor's office staff got real irritated with the whole thing - working with a lab they had never heard of - that was seemingly being difficult with unusual requests that they - Igenex - did not even perform properly - to make matters worse. I had hoped if necessary to re-test with the help of this doctor - but now I dare not ask. It would have been so much better if Igenex had made a favorable impression - as an easy to deal with lab - for me and any others seeking help with testing. As if we don't have enough trouble getting tested.

IgeneX has been so professional and helpful to the three of us. I can't imagine they are mixing up what they do so well.
