What to expect? Any cautionary tales to Share? I'm on Mepron, Biaxin and Plaquenil currently.
Starting A-bab then A-bart soon!
Thanks!

I started Bactrim DS on June 7.
On June 25 I developed chills and fever. The chills lasted 3 days and the fevers lasted off and on all week.
I also developed extreme fatigue and loss of appetite, followed by itchy skin.
On July 4 I woke to find that I was jaundiced.
I went to the ER. Had lots of labwork and an ultrasound there.
Liver and pancreatic enzymes were very elevated.
I had to stop all meds and supps.
I am still off of them. I saw a GI Dr, had tons more labwork and had 2 MRI's which were normal.
It seems that this all happened due to a drug reaction to Bactrim DS.
Most of my liver enzymes are back to normal and my pancreatic enzymes are still slightly elevated.
Just be cautious and consult your LLMD if you develop any symptoms. Don't assume it is a herx.

It worked great for me. No problems.
Here's a website that talks about the one problem that can come up with Bactrim:

I was on Bactrim DS with zithro for 9 months and it suppressed the bart. Then I was treating babesia with Mepron/zithro and then Malarone/zithro.
When I developed an allergy to zithro, brought on by too much sun, I had to quit. Bart symptoms were creeping back so I started Bactrim again two days ago.
I notice it also can cause sun sensitivity. I was out doing some yard work and felt pretty sick - shaky and weak. So be careful of the sun. It can also cause a dangerous reaction which starts with sores around your mouth.
