Crap. last night I spilled my last ambien pills for the month (3 tabs) in the wet kitchen sink. They got all wet and mushy so I got rid of them.
So I didnt have any ambien last night. WOW was that rough. I layed in bed from 9p-until at least 5 am not even dozing for 5 minutes.
I ended up taking something that I didnt want to because I can go into labor any minute ( I am 9.5 months pregnant) and although I am allowed to take it I would like to not have to. I cant really elaborate on that....
So I call the pharmacy this am and explain what happened.
i was told that the pharmacist would not fill my rx early (it would only be 2 days early) unless my doc authorizes it.
So I call the doc who rx's it and left a message. well he is usually off on tuesdays so he didnt call it in.
I have severe sleep problems on ambien, let alone off of it.
I just cant go without sleep knowing I could go into labor at any moment. That would be kinda screwing myself over before I even started. it also makes my pain much worse and my mental health not so good
Believe me when I tell you I have tried everything. Benadryl, unisom, phenergan warm baths yadda yadda. actually I could prob take all those things at once and ambien and still not sleep well.
Its just really crappy timing. Not sure what I am going to do.
I was hoping I would go into labor today and that I could just get it at the hospital.
but looks like baby will not come out today.

I feel for you. When I run out of my Benzo, I am treated to the up-all-nights until I can get a refill. And if I try to refill early, they think I'm an addict. So I just run around bumping into walls like a brain-dead Zombie until refill time. It's just cruel.
I hope you get your refill and sleep tonight. And I hope that Bebeh comes!

merrygirl, hope your baby comes soon.
I can sympathize with you as I ran out early last week. Was taking just a tad more than 1 pill occasionally over the last 3 months. Amazingly they filled it with my MDs ok.
I was lucky my sister could loan me some until it came in the mail.
I know there are some who say to never take ambien, but lyme does mess with sleep.
MD who discussed my sleep study with me said he has patients on it for 25 years, so not to worry when I said I really don't want to be on it.
I can't imagine going through the night like you are while being that pregnant!

all my doctors agreed that the benefits of taking it outweigh the risks. Its not that i am addicted, but i depend on it. I found half a tablet so hoping that will do something.
I have tried benadryl...it does nothing at all.
I look forward to sleep, its my only escape from pain..

I am from NY and we are able to fill prescriptions (controlled substances) 2 days early. I don't understand, where are you from? Other meds can be filled from 4-5 days early sometimes controlled as well if you have a good pharmacy.....Hope all is well, that baby will have you up most of the night anyway when it arrives! Best of luck!
