This might be a stupid question, but has anyone ever had any unused abx? And what do you do with them? I'd hate to throw them away and waste something that could potentially help someone who cannot afford them. Then again, I know it is illegal to share prescriptions.. Any thoughts?? Thank you.

Saying this may make me sound like a pessimist, but I have saved mine, just because I didn't want to throw them out. Didn't believe I'd ever need them.
But I did. You would need to check with pharmacist to see if they're still ok to use though.
Hope in your case you never do need them again!
Stay well!
I've heard your LLMD might take them, but mine wouldn't/couldn't.

If you post what you have, others will be able to help you find a good use for it.
Sometimes your doctor or a local free clinic will take the extra medication (especially IV or IM) and give it to a needy patient. Volunteer groups will also collect the unexpired meds to use on medical mission trips.
It is awful to let good medicine go to waste when there are people in need.

Marz - that's a good idea to keep them, I am far from well. They are abx that haven't worked and there is one that made me terribly ill and I refused to take them anymore. I'm on a few others... So chances are i will not need them again.
Sammy- I'm not sure if we have anything like that around here (free clinics), but will def look into it. I would feel so terrible throwing them away thinking of needy people. Thank you to you both.
