I just started Cipro and I was curious of others reactions.
What infection is it used for?

I took it with plenty of Magnesium, and within 2 months was feeling at 80% most days.
Unfortunately I didnt treat long enough, and the Bart is back. I am going to be starting Avelox, which I'm not too excited about.
Cipro was the one drug that made me feel amazing. I had no side effects, and it seems to be generally well tolerated. You have to watch for tendonitis with any of the drugs in this family though. If you don't take magnesium, you can risk tendon rupture.

Be careful with tendonitis while on it...stay away from vigorous exercise...tennis, running, etc....TOTALLY!!!!

It is used for bartonella. According to LymeMD's blog, it is also reputed to help shuttle other abxs into the body's cells, where they can attack LD and/or bart.
I also took it with plenty of magnesium and calcium. As mentioned above, watch out for any tendon pain. I tolerated it well and remained active. I did plenty of cardio and weight lifting and also played some golf and tennis. I did not feel any harmful effects from the cipro.
Additionally, I combined cipro with tindamax. The tindamax and cipro combo worked great for me, so I took them for 6 months and felt like I got back to 100% for about a year. Then I had a relapse after I got a sinus infection and took a z-pak a few months ago. I am back on tindamax and cipro now and feel better already.
LymeMD's blog also has some good info about the very promising studies done regarding the effectiveness of tindamax against the spirochete and cystic forms of LD as well as its effectiveness on biofilms.
