I just recently received my test result from IGenex, they were positive. My LLMD has me on Doxy 200Mg bid and after two weeks she would like me to add on Plaquenil 200mg bid. I read the label and it has a black box warnings... I would just like to know if anyone had any complication with this MED.

I also wanted to know if Doxy is good for Neuro lyme? I mostly suffer from brain fog, head pressure, ear pain, anxiety.. Overall I feel like I'm going crazy. I don't really have joint pain or any other symptoms.

Thanks! I am just trying to find hope, I feel like I am going to get stuck like this [Frown]

You just have to keep your eyes checked like every 6 months. It is a rare side effect.

Yes, it's a rare side effect. Be sure to keep a check on it. Most have no problems with plaq.

Doxy does cross the blood brain barrier so it should help neuro problems.

Doxy is excellent for neuro lyme, particularly at 400mg+ / day. I had a very abnormal brain MRI before treatment and it is now normal. I attribute doxy with a good part of it.

You need a cyst buster like Flagyl, Tinamax, or Plaquenil.

IV doxy was one of the best meds for my brain fog, but was very toxic.

bcb - looks like you got diagnosed fairly quickly. How are you feeling these days?

I feel like Im going crazy and have a vase around my head. I feel so foggy and disconnected. I cant go to school or work yet alone take car of my 15 month old [Frown] . This is only my 3rd day of treatment with Doxy. I want to ask for an IV to see if it can speed things up a bit. I am literally taking 30+ capsules a day (including the antibiotics). My LLMD has me on so many supplements, some for immune system, some for detox, some for antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, probiotics.... I wonder if that the reason i havent been noticing a Herx. I just have so many questions, like how long untill I will see an improvement???

Hang in there leli92.

How long it will take to see improvement is very individual. It may be only a couple months, it may take years. It will depend on how long you have been sick, symptoms and severity, what other infections and problems you may have, how well you detox, etc.

Don't get discouraged. You have begun treatment so you are on the right path.
