I am reading my Igenex results and am wondering if anyone can help clarify this for me.
I have IgM 31***, 39-IND, 41* IgG 31**, 41*, and 58*
On the results page it states: LIMITATION: Positive result for 31 and /or 34 may be present after Lyme vaccination in uninfected persons. Infection with HSV, EBV, HCV and or syphyillis may give false (*) results
I had the Lyme vaccine years ago when I was really hiking a lot. I also have HSV. My Dr now thinks that I no longer have Lyme but have the Dr F "bug"--I did test positive for it. Dr F thinks that the Lyme is gone and I am now just dealing with his bug.
My question is--have any of you had the vaccine and tested positive? I only had 16 days of antibiotics and ended up in the hospital from that so I know that he is hesitant to put me on the antibiotics again as he thinks that the Lyme is gone. He's given me 2 tests since the Igenex test and they were both negative.(labcorp) I have been treating the "bug" with a vegan low fat diet and it helped tremendously. I still have episodes where I don't feel right but Dr F says that the symptoms can be casued by the bug as well.
Thoughts?

I am at the understanding that the 39 band is specific for Lyme and does not cross-react like the 31 and 34 bands can. I think I saw a few on here who were treated on that band alone.
Did you request to have the 31 Epitope test done at IgeneX to confirm whether or not your 31 band was really due to Lyme (versus another bacteria or virus)? I had this performed and it helped me believe my diagnosis. It is supposed to have a really high specificity. It was a couple hundred extra bucks, but really helped me to believe it all. I also am + for HSV and EBV so I was reluctant to believe when I saw that limitation on the test as well.

I have never heard of 39 cross reacting? Not to say that it can't.
9 cross-reactive for Borrellia 12 specific for Bb 18 unknown 20 cross-reactive for Borrellia 21 unknown 22 specific for Bb, probably really the 23/25 band 23-25 outer surface protein C (OspC), specific for Bb 28 unknown 30 unknown; probably an outer surface protein; common in European and one California strain 31 outer surface protein A (OspA), specific for Bb 34 outer surface protein B (OspB); specific for Bb 35 specific for Bb 37 specific for Bb 38 cross-reactive for Bb 39 is a major protein of Bb flagellin; specific for Bb 41 flagellin protein of all spirochetes; this is usually the first to appear after a Bb infection and is specific for all Borrellia 45 cross-reactive for all Borellia (sometimes people with Lyme who have this band positive also have the co-infection Ehrlichiosis) 50 cross-reactive for all Borrellia 55 cross-reactive for all Borrellia 57 cross-reactive for all Borrellia 58 unknown but may be a heat-shock Bb protein 60 cross reactive for all Borrellia 66 cross-reactive for all Borrelia, common in all bacteria 83 specific antigen for the Lyme bacterium, probably a cytoplasmic membrane 93 unknown, probably the same protein in band 83, just migrates differently in some patients

I know that I cannot explain away the other ones I was positive on, I was just wondering about the 31 b/c of the specific statement about the vaccine.
I am going to try to get a second opinion about the idea of the Lyme being "gone" as Dr F says. I do believe that there is something to the FL1953 though. When I started the diet I had tremors, stomach pain and intense fatigue. I had a few days of feeling really icky and then I felt a LOT better and have felt much better for the past few months. I have "flares" around my cycle but Dr F says that this is the FL1953. As I said, he says I no longer have Lyme so he will not put me on meds for Lyme since I tested negative 2ce both western blot and PCR.
I just did not know too if anyone had also had the vaccine and had a positive too.
