After my appt yesterday, I am now on the following meds which have me concerned.

I am on plaquenil, IM bicillin injections (2x a week), mepron 2 tsps (twice a day), Septra DS, malarone 2 (2x a day), Clarithromycin, nystatin and cyptolepsis.

Does this seem like too much?? I am not complaining, but wondering if other people are on this much at one time? Also, not sure if my small 5'2" and 106 lb body can handle all the meds.

** removed some dosages, left Mepron/Malarone dosages, please see Loub's post at the top of the medical forum for information regarding posting protocols. Thanks. **

That does seem like a lot. I personally would welcome a regimen like that. But I have 70 lbs on you!

I couldn't say whether it is too much, but if you are nervous, the best thing to do is call your doc and let him know. You don't have to start until you're ready. Treating 3 or 4 infections at once is supposed to be the most effective way, but will also make you herx the hardest. It is quite a protocol. But I think if you can handle it it could bring you pretty far.

I know the LLMD that I have is very good, so I know he knows his stuff, but just nervous about all the meds affecting organs (liver, kidneys, etc.)

I have already started the new treatment as of today, so hopefully it will be okay.

Lymeboy - what is the treatment you are on? Do you have babesia? bartonella? and Lyme?

Does anyone actually do liver, kidney cleanses while taking the antibiotics (i.e. Hulda Clark's liver/gall bladder cleanse).

I have done it before, but only when I was not taking abx (previous LLMD pulsed my abx treatment - 2wks on then 2 wks off, but it wasn't helpful in getting rid of the babesia infection, which my new LLMD is aggressively treating).

Also, have the MTHFR gene so not sure if I am detoxing all that well without a cleanse, even though I am using burbur and Buhner's Red Root for lymph drainage.

I have all three infections. I won't bother to share my current treatment with you, it is completely without any sense at all. My doc is just one disaster after another. I see a new doc in 2 weeks, if everything goes well, I'll let you know.

Lymeboy -

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope this new doctor works out for you.

I've been through three LLMD's myself - the one I'm seeing now is a keeper [Smile]

Hopefully, you won't have to look again for another doc and this one works out.

That is heavy-duty. Ramp up slowly. When I'm starting a new protocol, I add in a new med every 3 days. That seems to give my stomach and liver time to adjust. Then, I'm fine.

I could handle a program like that, but the 2 tsp 2x/day of Mepron would give me heartburn after about 2-3 weeks.

You will make progress, that is for sure. Do your detox!

Good luck!

how do you schedule them all with supplements and probiotics? I am about to add a third abx. just stopped taking biaxin and started ceftin and I also take septra, I have to add in Malarone 2x day. Do I take malarone at the same time as the other two antibiotics?

That does sound like alot, I'm struggling with getting the 3 going. I could not tolerate plquenil

I agree with Boxer Mom. Start one medication at a time. Ramp up slowly and see how you do. Herxing is really not a good thing if it is bad. I'd be pretty sick on your protocol. Men seem to do better than women.

Seems like a good bit to me.

Why are you taking Mepron and Malarone both?
