Hi all. I treated for lyme for about 3 yrs. I stopped treatment about

two years ago. My family dr. told me today she thinks I may have

viral encephalitis. Could this be a lyme relapse? How will I know

if lyme is involved? I'm worried. I have no llmd now. I told her I

had treated for lyme disease. She said all my liver tests were

good, so it wasn't lyme. Is that true? Is the liver always affected

in lyme? Sorry for so many questions. I'll leave it at that for

now. Any comments at all would be appreciated. Thanks!

You need to get a LLMD again. My liver has been "good" and I am treating Lyme as well as coinfections. Run away from that Dr.

Good luck

I haven't had a problem with my liver, my wife started to have concerning test results after 7+ months of biaxin, flagyl, and doxy. Go to your LLMD, you could have also been reinfected.

I didn't have problems w/ my liver until I took Artemisinin so I don't know why your Dr would say that! And I get my bloodwork done every week. I concur w/ everyone here... you need to go find an LLMD.

I have never heard that liver tests are abnormal with lyme. In fact, my doc checks my liver function every month to be sure they stay normal with the antibiotics.

Thanks so much, everyone! I had a feeling she really didn't know.

I didn't remember having abnormal liver tests during treatment.

I appreciate all the replies
