Just got my new issue of Life Extension magazine (October, 2011). There is an article titled "Novel Methods to Cure Drug Addiction."
The author says that his all natural IV protocol which balances neurotransmitters and uses IV amino acids and vitamin C etc etc can improve neuro symptoms of lyme, parkinson's. ALS, MS, alzheimer's, mold toxicity etc etc.
Sounds too good to be true.
If the protocol can remove toxins stored in fat then it definitely could help, but I still think antibiotics would be needed to kill tickborne infections. I do not think upregulating the immune system by itself is enough without adding in killing agents.
Just wondering if anyone has been to this doc and if it lived up to the hype.
I am guessing that many of the treatments would not be covered by insurance and that we are talking thousands of dollars for I think I saw a reference to 20 IV's although that sounds very low to me.

Interesting where it states...
"Dr. Sponaugle believes that ten years from now, the CDC and Americas physicians will become aware that 30 percent of Americans who are suffering depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia are infected with this tick borne bacterium that has been so difficult for most physicians to believe in or diagnose."
"Dr. Sponaugle diagnoses Lyme Disease in 40 percent of his addicted patients and in 80 percent of his chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia/chronic headache patients."
"Dr. Sponaugle has since October 2010, used a new Lyme test that measures Lymphocyte memory recognition and cytokines that are specific to the Lyme spirochete."
HOWEVER...
The website also is kicking LLMD's and antibiotic treatment, and basically claiming that his natural protocol is better.
I can not support that theory, nor do I appreciate his broad unproven statements used to advertise or promote himself.
Other than this website Bee, I've not heard a word about him.

I live in the area and had not heard of him except on here a few months ago someone asked the same question as you.
Just went to an alternative health care provider in our area yesterday for the first time (first time with that person) -- not an overall doc but someone that does some supportive treatment -- and hearing I had lyme she made a few suggestions, one of them being to consider going to this place. But while she spoke highly of them, she did not say anything specific that I can pass on, so, for whatever that is worth. I feel I am reaching the end of treatment needs and am happy with my doc who is more convenient so I am not likely to pursue them.

Hmmm. It's a good sensible website, leavened with some shameless self promotion, but he certainly is on to some major stuff that most docs aren't--including how the lyme and mold toxins both derail the immune system.
