Started babs tx about 4 months ago-had mild night sweats. Last night I woke up drenched. However, I am transitioning to menopause, my period has gotten really irregular. I don't think it's from the lyme-I' just turned 50, so it's probably "that time"
How do you know if the nightsweats are from babesia of hormonal?
Can nightsweats get worse 4 months down the road? I didn't really have them when starting babs tx.

Beths-I don't have any personal experience with this but you can ask your local GP or GYN to check your hormone levels....Hormones can definitely cause you to have sweats......Also, lyme itself can throw your hormones out of whack.....
It would surprise me if 4 months down the road you were having drenching night sweats from babs...
Sorry you're going through this.....

I think it can take many months to get rid of babesia, even years, so I do believe you can have night sweats only 4m into treatment.
I get night sweats around my monthly cycle. I am not sure what this is caused by, but I do think lyme can give you night sweats as well.
When I started mino I had a big herx and had night sweats. I am sure it was hitting lyme then.
It is so hard to say what is from what with this disease because the symtpoms cross over so much.
I would get your hormones checked and go from there. If everything turns out good you can rule that out.

The way I tell the difference is when it is Babs causing the night sweats I also feel SICK!!!
When it is hormones I do not feel sick - just sweaty. With the hormone related sweats I usually get them as part of PMS OR if I skip a period.

I would think if they happen monthly near menses or during then its hormones. I don't have babs.. but I do get occasional night sweats near my cycle.
