Do you mean things with sugar substitutes? Those are bad for everyone.
Meat, eggs, veggies, etc, are all sugar-free and good for you.

Everyone is different. Some people can handle Stevia or zyletol (dunno about truvia). The only way you will know is if you try it.
I can't take any of them.

Are you talking about Sugar-Free prepackaged stuff? Like candy, cookies, etc.?
Read the label. A lot of sugar-free prepackaged foods contain MALTITOL, which is a sugar alcohol. Many people get SEVERE gastric upset with maltitol. I know I do. I avoid it at all costs.
Erythritol and Xylitol are also sugar alcohols, but don't usually cause the gastic problems that maltitol causes.
If you are looking for sugar-free treats, make your own. There are a ton of recipes out there using stevia.
(I'm allergic to stevia and I do use Splenda now and then. People who are sensitive to the Asteraceae/Compositae family of plants, includes ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, & daisies can sometimes be allergic to stevia)

As mentioned above, I would recommend staying away from sugar substitutes like splenda, nutrasweet, and the sugar achohols. Since I got LD, those sweeteners just tear me up. Plus, I know several people who do not have LD that cannot tolerate or have had bad reactions to splenda.
I use saccharine at times because it does not bother me at all.
