DMC, it doesn't last b/c we are sick and our immune system is compromised.

It's very helpful but it's not an overnight fix. YOu have to go at least 3-4x a week for months to see lasting results.

for some symptom relief though, it can be very fast. My lyme induced sciatica disappeared in one session! I could walk normally after the first session, but came back once more, just in case!

I am trying it. I go every couple of weeks for now. One interesting thing for me is that the more I go the less painful the needles have gotten. There are still spots where it hurts a lot but they are getting fewer.

I've been getting acupuncture treatments for about a year now. I would recommend them if you can find a good practitioner. They help with symptoms temporarily and this makes it worthwhile to me. The effect is not lasting though.

I'm sorry to say that it hasn't worked for me. My symptoms are chronic, though. After 26 times, I don't feel a difference--maybe the practictioner I chose isn't that great, but I feel like a wasted a lot of money out of desperation for something to work. I understand the theory behind it, and I really wanted to believe it would help. I hope if you try it, you get some results!

Julier212,

It is very HARD to find a good Doctor who knows how to do it properly. I have tried 5 doctors before I found the two that were knowledgeable.

So for those who did not find it helpful I wonder if it's b/c of the doctor. Not all know how to do it right!

I remember the very first time I went... I had this dry cough for 2 months that just wouldn't go away. So when I went home from college, my dad said enough was enough so he literally dragged me to see his Chinese Dr. After ONE session my dry cough was gone! All he did was stick needles on my hands and wrists. Clearly he unblocked something.

The second time (years later) I went w/ my mom but didn't get treatment and he looked at me from across the room and said "She is carrying happiness". At that time I haven't even missed my period yet and he told my mom I was pregnant!! Besides I was only married 2 months. Later when I learned that I was indeed pregnant I asked him how he knew and he said he can see the pulse on my neck. Like that would explain everything! LOL

I wish I was still in Boston... I would track that man down and maybe he can help me w/ my Lyme!

He probably meant he could see the pulse of the baby on your neck pulse!

I learned a bit about pulse reading in Corea, it is not simple, but experienced practioners can tell a HOST of things only with pulse.

Either on the neck or on wrists.

It doesn't have to do with the cardiac pulse only, but much more 'fine' type of pulse, rhythm, if it is thin /thick /slimy/ fast / slopw etc...

Brussels,

I have read that they can tell by touching your wrists but I have never heard anyone reading the pulse on your neck! That was AMAZING!! To think I was barely 4 weeks along and he knew. That was incredible!

Of course my mom grilled me the whole way home. And I was like I am NOT pregnant!! First grandchild... and all. Then she told my dad, and I was like dang it I don't want to talk about sex/pregnancy with my parents!!

I have been getting acupuncture for 3 years now. It definitely helps improve my immune system.

Whenever I herx, my acupuncturist makes me feel so much better! Worth every single penny. Also, the effects are cumulative.

She even does a treatment for yeast (helps).

I don't know how anyone deals with lyme without it.

I do it roughly weekly and find it helpful, just like I find massage helpful. These things by themselves are not going to heal lyme disease, but they can help the job get done.
