My daughter has been sick for 8 years and although we saw some of the best, she is still sick she is now receiving IVIG because of her immune system, she also takes the following:
She just started Rifampin again 2 days ago, her pain is through the roof and her aniexty is bad, she hasn't slept in 48 hours. I went and bought charcoal and Milk thistle but did an interaction ck and it said not to use Charcoal. What other things could I give her!!!! And inbetween what should I give her these!!! Thanks

Hi Mrs Scampi, Sorry that your daughter is not feeling well. Rifampin can be tough.
Is she ramping up on the Rifampin? Rifampin seem to help our daughter the most.
DD started on one capsule and a few weeks later added in the other capsule.
The first few weeks were the hardest. Strong headaches, mood swings, rages, etc.
Good luck, hopefully others will come along with more help.

I'm so sorry to hear that. It is truly one of the worst if you cannot sleep at all.
Epsom salt bathes, liquid topical magnesium, clay --drink in water or a small spoonful -- at least 4 hrs away from any other meds (double check this on internet).
She needs to sleep -- if all else fails, see if the doctor will prescribe her Klonopin just to get her over the hump for a few days. It worked for me.
I also found that having some noise running in the background - either white noise machine, or else a small fan, really helped alot, too. Good luck to you both

It might serve you both to call your pharmicist if you haven't already and go over the list of what all she is taking.
Sadly, alot of times they are more knowledgeable and helpful then alot of the doctors out there.

I don't know where you would fit it in, but perhaps you could give your daughter Apple Pectin 2 hours before or after taking any meds.

Sometimes she will cry and it is OK tell her.The more the load the more neuro reactions she will have. She should start slowly. CAn she do saunas or coffe enema far from meds ( before she takes them so she can release toxins and than she can take meds).
Activated corcoal should be 4 hrs apart from every thing else. She can take clorella ( away from meds) .If she does not want people to see her like crying she just can stay in the room ( is ok to scream in the room ) .I was there myself in the HELL world.Rifampin took me out of it.
Bart will take longer treatment than Lyme and babs .It is the hardest to kill .Thank good now are more options to use than before.Herbs wark as well.

I can't help but comment on the insane amount of meds your daughter is on. I don't know how the body can handle that. I have a hard time handling more than 2 meds at one time. She probably is very toxic due to all of those meds and the lyme.
Suggestions: I had the worst anxiety when I first got ill and a homeopathic doctor gave me something for it and it almost got completely rid of my anxiety. There are other ways besides these meds with all of their side effects.
Not sure what type of heart issues she is having but CoQ10 and Magnesium helped mine greatly.
Im not a doctor but I think some natural alternatives would benefit her.

Has she been able to tolerate epsom salt baths? At least that should not interact with any meds I hope?

Peat baths are really good for detoxing. You get a tube of the mud (Moor Mud Bath) and dump the whole tube in the tub with as ht of water as you can handle. Then soak in the tub for 20 minutes. I alternate them with Epsom baths. This is the same mud that spas use for their detox wraps or detox soaks. They are a little pricey but if you order box they are cheaper. I pay about$ 7 a tube. They help me a ton. I can't remember the name, but if you are interested, pm me and I will look it up for you.
Rifampin is rough, but it will get better. One thing is that rifampin can counteract pain medication and sleeping medication. It can go either way, but for me, it made my pain meds less effective. My doctor increased my pain med dosage for the time I was on rifampin. You want to mention it to your doctor because she might need her dosages to be adjusted.
Namers, do you know the nameof the homeopathic anxiety remedy you use?

Oh, and another great detoxing method are Castor oil packs, with organic Castor oil soaked onto organic wool flannel. You place the flannel over her liver, and cover with a hot water bottle and sit for 45 minutes. Again, if you want more info, pm me and I can give more detailed instructions.
