A family member gave me some of their doxy that they couldn't use. Too lazy to look up name, but it's a blue capsule.
Mine is a pink tablet and have only taken that one for years. Both are 100 mg.
The blue ones are really cleaning out my sinuses. I've never had that happen with the pink ones.
I'm wondering if the pink ones have been a waste. Maybe not really as strong and as effective?

A big question is: Where did you get the pink stuff from? I've only seen the blue caps, and I've gotten them from 3 different sources.
How old are your pink tablets? When do they expire?

I checked the labels. The pink doxy is from Mutual Pharmaceuticals. This comes from the pharmacy that fills my LLMDs prescriptions and is an up to date prescription.
The blue capsules come from Wilson Pharmaceutical.
I suppose the blue ones just have much more filler since they're so much bigger, but they sure seem a lot more potent.

Pink tablet sounds like azythromycin.
But to answer your question, I have had different reactions to different manufacturers. (for me it is mostly a case of red dye, your pink pills would give m a rash). But also, I notice after a while I get depressed on store brand claritin, but not the real thing. Some of the fillers used are actually things that can make a difference, either good or bad. And it seems we lymies get pretty good at listening to our bodies.

My doxy is also pinkish. The lable says " "WW 112" orange round film-coated tablet." Not sure where the manufacturer is. My type is doxycycline hyclate 100mg tab. It is about the size of a smartie candy. I am pretty sure you can google doxy and look under images to see pictures.

My Doxy is also a pinkish tablet. I think the tablets are easier on the stomach, than the capsules.

I just got the idea maybe it was a cost issue and my pharmacy filled with the one that was cheaper. But it looks like they're comparable in price.
The capsules definitely are stronger and I'm herxing with them. Never did on tablets.
Besides bringing out my lyme symptoms, my left eye socket will get a dull ache and sinus drainage starts about an hour after taking it.
The problem is, I can't ask for them from pharmacist next time since you're not supposed to take anyone else's meds and he'd wonder how I know there's a difference.
Maybe have my MD ask to have it filled that way?

Marz, I am on the pink doxy pill and have the same eye socket symptom you do (no drainage though). Maybe it's just the doxy, any form?

Mindy, I'd get the eye symptom when on the week of zith plus pink doxy, but not usually when on doxy alone. But the blue doxy alone does it.
I take doxy every day and the zith is pulsed one week on and one week off.
I saved some of the blue ones and will test again to see if I get the same reaction.
Wouldn't you think if it's something living in our sinuses that makes our eye ache that it would get knocked out after a couple of weeks?
This has been going on with the zith for a long time.

Someone on here said the capsules absorb faster than the tablets.
Ideally you want to spike the blood levels of the antibiotic a couple times a day, rather than having a steady stream all day long; the capsules may be doing that for you better than the tabs.
Just a thought...
