Hey guys! I just wanted to write and get your thoughts on what I'm doing and what's going on with me.

First of all, I am seeing Dr. C. on 10/20. (SO excited to FINALLY be getting close to that appointment date!)

Last Monday I saw my GP and he signed off on my Western Blot with IgeneX. I sent it off that afternoon...waiting (semi)patiently for the results. I guess my doctor will get those? How does that work?

Meanwhile, my GP went ahead and prescribed doxy for me. I am taking 300 mg/day now. (started at 200 for a couple of days)

I don't think I've herxed. [Frown] I had a couple of VERY BAD pain days on about day 3 and 4, but nothing else. The good news is that my pain (which is my worst symptom) has been 85% better for the past two days!

I'm not sure what to think. Could be coincidental. I don't think it's the placebo effect, because quite frankly I've been doubting I have Lyme lately because I just don't seem quite as sick as so many of you.

So...that's where I stand right now. It will be VERY interesting to see what the WB shows. I'll share, of course, as soon as I know anything!

Hope you all are doing well today.
Hugs,
Beth

It takes about two weeks to get the Igenex results. They go to your doctor. I would ask for a copy of the results.

What is your plan in regards to Doxy and your 10/20 appt? If that doctor wants to test for things - you might ask if you should be off Abx and how long etc.

Susan...I kind of thought that I would stop the doxy as soon as I get my test results back, either way.

That should give me a couple of weeks off before seeing Dr. C. in case he wants to test me again.

As for my test results...do I ask IgeneX to send me a copy or my GP?

Thanks!

Igenex will send the test results to the doctor who signed off on the order.

Your job is to get a copy from him.

Before stopping the Doxy, I suggest calling the Lyme doctor's office to see if it is necessary. I have never stopped antibiotics for testing, and I have had positive results.

Good luck at your upcoming appointment.
