I know I should be asking my hubby's doctor this--but I know I'll get quicker and better info from everyone here.

We're still waiting on blood results from the LLMD for a DX, but I was wondering...

We usually get flu shots every year. I know that some people don't believe in them. But, we've never had any bad reactions and my husband did get the flu one year when he didn't get the vaccine.

Anyhow, my question is, if my hubby does have lyme, should he not get a flu shot this year?

And if he has lyme, should he never get a flu shot again?

Thanks in advance to all of you who provide such great info for us newbies!

Ha you beat me to the question!! That has been on my mind as well. In the past I have always had the flu mist for my girls, but I did NOT the last 2 two years. And sure enough BOTH girls had the flu both years! In fact, the oldest had it so bad that we had to rush her to the hospital b/c her resting heart rate was 156 and Urgent Care said they were not equipped to handle a case w/ Leukemia history. Chemo is known to cause heart damage... so they weren't sure what was going on with her at that point.

Then in Feb 2011 our baby had the Flu type A and B back to back so she was sick for a good two weeks. Shortly after that her Lyme symptoms started to appear and she was then diagnosed this July. So I am tormented... wondering if I did them a disservice by stopping the Flu Mist. I don't know what to do this year!

This comes up every year.. sometimes it comes up more than once. You will receive impassioned responses.

Mine is a resounding NO for ME.

Since another poster asked the same question (first), I'm closing this one.
