Oh did you see the end? I BAWLED my eyes out when I saw it. At the time I just found out I had brain lesions and I was going to die! So that hit home big time!! I have to share it.
A life that matters
Live a life that matters Ready or not, someday it will all come to an end. There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else. Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed. Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear. So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away. It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived, at the end. It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant Even your gender and skin colour will be irrelevant.
So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured? What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success, but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence, but your character. What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone. What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you. What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.
Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstance, but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.

I actually started watching Food, Inc today. Usually it takes me a week or two to finish watching something. I got to the part where they started talking about the corn.
It's very frightening what they're doing to our food. The scariest thing for me is that 80% of the meat is processed by the same 4 mega-companies. Good thing I don't eat meat, but I worry for everyone else!
I saw "The Beautiful Truth" also, but I don't remember it very well. I think that since I don't remember it, it must not have been as powerful for me as the Burzynski Movie was.

James,
Have you seen King Corn? That's also very good. These documentaries do make you think twice about eating meats huh?
What no one cry over that poem at the end??

Scorpio - To tell you the truth about my opinion concerning that poem at the end: I was completely unmoved. I actually thought it was very weird that they would end the documentary with a poem.
That's just how it affected me. I was surprised when I read how you cried about it. That just goes to show how different everyone is.
But I cry constantly whenever I see "Under Our Skin", and I cried a lot when I saw the Burzynski Movie. I'm just saying - it's not like I'm completely insensitive.
-oops, forgot to mention: No, I've never seen King Corn. I'm gonna look it up now, though, and probably will add it to my "to watch" list. I love learning about GMO stuff (I'm guessing that's what it's about).

Just watched Forks over Knives yesterday. I've been feeling the need to slow down on meat. It's true, it takes days for it to make its way thru the digestive tract.
Don't you think we could use that energy for other things? LIke healing?
Also, if meat clogs you up and slows everything down, the bug die-off is just hanging around reabsorbing making you toxic.
Just sayin... I never did like eating animals anyway, but its hard to get away from and sometimes I feel like the body needs it. But it def doesn't need it every day!
And there are tons of fat/unhealthy vegetarians out there. It's called junk food that they think is healthy because it's not an animal.

Oops! I guess it was probably the Gerson Miracle video that I saw, and not "the beautiful truth"! It was the ending that got me confused.
Now I have to try to get ahold of that movie.

Okay, I'm downloading it right now! I'm not sure though when I'll watch it, because movies are very boring for me. Usually I only watch a movie when I'm feeling too sick to do anything else, which is rare for me these days.
How can both movies have the exact same ending?! That's why I got confused. I read about the poem at the end of the movie, and then I thought I already saw it, even though it was the Gerson movie.
The Gerson movie WAS boring for me, so maybe that's why I wasn't moved by it. It seemed more like an advertisement to me.

If you're interested in food.... a MUST READ is the Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollen. Another book worth checking out is The China Study.
I'm going to check out this film above, thanks:)

Nutrition is a highly controversial and political world. More so than Lyme. THere are people who swear by the Weston Price method. Some who say Veganism has reversed their aging. I don't know who to believe.
I think one thing is for sure. The common western diet is toxic. Our supermarkets are toxic. Mass production seems to always come with a price

I know what you are saying Lymeboy! At first I was completely overwhelmed! But now I just follow some simple basic rules.
I try to eat as much live foods as possible. So I cut out foods that are processed. If something is sitting on the shelf for a year how good can that be for you??
Six ingredients or less!
If I can't pronounce an ingredient then it has no business being in my food!!
I try to get as much organic, wild caught, free range foods as I can. But I'm not into one particular type of eating or the other; too confusing that way!

A vegan diet can be healthy. But overall, I don't think having limited amounts of meat is harmful.
How do you think the hunters and gatherers survived in the winter when there was no vegetation?
They turned to hunting and gathering of nuts.
So I don't think it's fair to say that meat eating is cancer causing, rather...it should be researched as to WHAT IS IN the meat NOW that could be causing cancer and chronic illness?
Can we say added hormones and genetically modified feed?

Hi Folks My advice regarding the Gerson therapy is use whatever juicer you have and just get going with the program. Now over a year and a half into it and I have my life back. See my last posting one year ago when I was 9 months into the program Today I feel fantastic and better then after 75 sessions of hyperbaric therapy.
Read the link below if you would like more details on me and the Gerson program. I plan to update the original link with additional observations so check back. Please If you have not tried the Gerson therapy then please do not make negative comment. James
Did you ever do the 5 enemas per day + 13 juices per day like the original poster said she did?
That is an insane amount of juice and enemas, how on earth can a regular person fit that into a schedule of work. I actually work 30 hours a week.
I'd also like to add, I never made any negative comments about the Gerson Therapy. My only thoughts are that some people's bodies do well with a small amount of meat in the diet (quality meat). Everyone is different.
I'm very interested in the Gerson therapy, but a year into treatment, money is something i need to budget. I'll be going to San Diego to get 31 surface amalgam fillings replaced. I would like to visit the "hospital" in Mexico while I'm there, since I have to be there for 2 weeks anyway. But again, money is kind of something to keep in mind.
I'd like to hear the details of your protocol, especially in the first 3 months, and if there is any way to cut down the cost of the therapy.
Most days I get in 4 enemas and 8-10 juices. It all depends on how fast you want to get the toxins out and heal. Even if you can only get 2-3 enemas done a day your still moving forward to better health *if you stick the diet*. Get the book Healing The Gerson Way" to learn more.
Like I said Gerson's cost is basically the cost of foods and a couple supplements. Where it gets expensive is if you count your time away from work because the procedure is a full time job....
Look at it this way, either pay yourself by doing a procedure which works or work to pay someone else to do the "here try this" procedure
Your in luck, you can meet the Gerson staff at the San Diego HQ while here in San Diego for your teeth. See www.gerson.org for the address

Another reason to avoid meat, especially red meat, is that it is bad for the kidneys. Those of us on heavy amounts of drugs are already stressing the kidneys and liver.
Another documentary promoting a diet low in animal products is Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.

James - what's your favorite kind of juicer? I'm super annoyed that it takes so long to make juices.

Look up Dr. Nick Gonzalez. He has interviews online. One good one with Dr. Mercola.
Dr. Gonzalez has a treatment very similar to Gerson but the diet is more tailored to each individual which does include meat for many people.
One trick I use for juicing is I make 3 - 5 juices every morning. I have a Food Saver machine with an option I purchased separately to seal canning jars.
So I put the juices in the jars and seal them airtight. This enables me to juice once daily.
My research tells me that the nutrients in the juice is preserved at least 90% - but that is only based on the info I can find online.

James1979, I use the Norwalk juicer and use canning jars to store juice in the refrigerator. Again use what ever you have but just get juicing. A little Gerson trick is to grind apple and carrot together which will heal with creating a alkaline body PH. James

Kewl. I love Netflix! always looking for new movies.
I have been on a low fat diet for some time. I can't go back to the way I ate before. The only problem is I lost way too much weight. I had to add meat back in.
It unclogs your system. That's the way I see it.
