I saw Dr F yesterday and he told me that my SED rate is 93. Normal range being 0-25. When I was tested in March it was 4.
I tested positive for Lyme in Oct of 2010 and only took 16 days of antibiotics. In march I tested positive through IGENEX but when re tested in April through Labcorp with Dr F.is was all negative. I did test positive for the FL1953.
My questions are--have any of you had a rise in your SED rate with Lyme?
We are doing further testing to rule out Lupus and RA... but it's hard for me to wrap my brain around the fact that I could jump from Lyme to RA or Lupus???
I do know that the FL1953 is apparently something that preceeds autoimmune diseases but I just want to know if anyone out there has a high SED rate with Lyme?
I have been told that it gets lower with Lyme but I am finding that we all seem to respond differently with these tests.....PLEASE HELP!

My SED rate has been as high as 102. SED rate is an indicator of inflammation in the body. Lyme & coinfections cause inflammation, so yes, it is entirely possible for a SED rate of 93 to be caused by Lyme/coinfections.

It is strange that yours jumped so much though. Most either have high or low sed rates... and it stays that way. Mine has always been low.

I do believe Lyme can cause lupus or RA .. it's a shame you weren't more aggressively treated. Hopefully, your treatment now will get you well!!
