abx will help kill bacteria let loose during the procedure, but as far as the procedure protocol itself, are the dentists trained in using rubber dams/oxygen in house?
you might consider taking a binder to help bind the metals up.

Hi Fyre...Thanks for responding.
Yes I am on abx.
The dentist is a biological dentist trained in using all precautions.
What binder is best for this and how much?

I've heard chlorella is popular. price depends on brands.
I make sure I keep my tract moving with psyllium and bentonite.
I just know that the place I'm going to be going to will have me on some vitamin C (possibly IV) before and after along with a lymphatic massage and acupressure.
Do a "Detox" search on here and see what you find.
Is your dental insurance helping you with the cost of the procedure? How many fillings are you replacing?
Perhaps others here will have better direction for you as far as what supplements to take.

i've had a couple amalgams replaced by a "regular" dentist at one time, without any "prep". It went fine.
On the other hand, the last time i went in to the dentist, i was running temps and obviously fighting some kind of infection. I had one tiny amalgam replaced (thank god i didn't get the other 3 done too) by a regular dentist... I was in the hospital 3 hours later with a 105 temp and severe chest pain.
Not trying to scare you, you should be fine with the antibiotics and some binders. get a quality probiotic as well if you're not already on one (VSL #3).
dental work should always be avoided if you are running fevers.

I was told by a top person in UK to chew 2 charcoal tablets 20 minutes before my appointment each time [he removed the amalgam from one quadrant of the mouth at a session, with a month between each session]. I would expect your biologically trained dentist to give you some advice for AFTER removal: if not, come back and ask again.

Fyre..
I am replacing 11 amalgams.
I also have 2 crowns that bio dentist said are optional. He could take them off, clean metal out and replace for $550 each tooth. He also said metal in crowns usually do not contain mercury. I don't think I can safely detox mercury with those still in...anyone know?
Metlife dental insurance will pay because all fillings are old. Total cost for just amalgams is $2800.00. I will still owe around $1500.00. Not sure what Metlife would pay on the crowns.
Heard about chlorella...just not sure of a safe source to buy from after Japan's radiation scare.
Fyre...What state is your dentist in? Sounds great with IV Vit C, etc.

Do a lymenet search on my name and the keywords amalgam removal preparation.
I have posted at great length on this topic in the past.
What's under your metal based crowns? If there's amalgam under them, then they have to go also. Most holistic dentists say that you have to get ALL the metal out even if it's not amalgam.

RZR - Isn't your dentist making recommendations about what to do before and after? Mine did. I rinsed with chlorella that had been soaked in water so that it was liquid, in between each removal.
I also had a block of charcoal under my tongue along with all the other safety precautions.
More than one kind of metal in the mouth has a galvanizing affect. One metal is harmful enough, more than one is even worse. Like having a battery in your mouth.
Last time I checked, all the chlorella from Biopure was pre nuclear disaster. Might want to give then a call. Biopureus.com

NanaDubo,
Dentist has not recommended anything. When I called to make the appt., I asked but assistant said they use all precautions, so I shouldn't worry.
I probably don't have time to order chlorella now. I will take Charcoal.

If you live near a mall and there's a Vitamin World there, they carry chlorella.
I highly recommend liposomal vitamin C as an alternative to Vitamin C IVs.
