Not sure if this is related to my infections. Am new to this board. I am recently diagnosed with b. Henselae, ehrlichia, possibly Lyme and babesia. Waiting for test results.
Anyway, I went for a light jog as I finally felt better this week, after changing meds 3 weeks ago. I developed what looks like a huge broken blood vessel on the side of my foot about 6 hours later, it itches sometimes and then swelling went away. Now I just have red/purple discoloration. It doesn't hurt.
Should I go see my llmd or pcp? My acupuncturist recommended getting seen asap to rule out cellulitis and infection. I am already on 500 mg of zithromax so wouldn't that rule out infections? Sorry if this seems silly but with these infections you just never know what to expect next. My llmd is far away- over 2 hours.

Draw a circle around the discoloration in ink. If the redness spreads outside the circle over the next couple days, go to the ER. Although I would suspect it's healing if the swelling went away. Usually cellulitis just continues to worsen.

I would call and see your pcp. No need to make big expense for seeing llmd for something that may resolve before the appointment. And you're right--you never know what to expect next. Weird things happen, but it is important to figure out what's just lyme weirdness versus something you need to get checked out. Listen to your body and err on the side of caution.

It took 20 years to find out I'm not crazy.
New bite in 2010 pushed my body over the edge. Positive for lyme, babs, bart, and myco.
I am not a doctor and happily offer only my own opinions.
