My LLMD has noted to take 4 charcoal capsules daily for detox. I have read on this site that many folks mention not to take it daily. I know that it can cause constipation, however I haven't had issues. I was just wondering if I am causing my body any harm by taking it daily. Is there a better binder option that I should consider? Any other detox options to consider?
Other Detox that I do daily: 80 oz. water - my weight: 115 Lemon water Epsom salt/Peroxide Bath 20 Minutes - Sauna Milk Thistle - starting soon

Charcoal can absorb the beneficial effects of various herbs, supplements or drugs - so, you may want to take it at least 4 hours (on both sides) away from anything you are taking.
You can also combine it with clay &/or psylium seeds. I don't think I would take it as a long time protocol. It may absorb too many beneficial things out of your system, as well. It can be useful in short term dosages, though.
It is my experience that certain supplements, herbs, or drugs can build up in the body. This may be a good thing to kill the pathogens. Taking a binder like charcoal may make them less potent to kill the pathogens. This is just my experience.

i'd like to hear other thoughts on this as well.
i take 2 activated charcoal capsules with 1tsp green clay plus two tsp whole psyllium husk. take it as a shake before bed, and upon waking, 2hrs from food or meds.
it has served me and my system very well, but i have been on this for some time and i'm not sure when or if to take a break with it.
on the one hand, a "doctor schulze" type detox program has you drinking these shakes a few times a day (tho for short term detox).
i wonder if taking this lesser amount is ok to go on for a while.
i know i still have the need for good binders as i treat lyme, and none others i've tried cover so much and work so well.
(tho you must be sure you have a clean source of clay and drink an entire glass of water with the shakes and thru the day)
peace.
