So I missed my morning dose of rifampin opps!
What should I do?
Also I talked to my LLMD she said I could take 600mgs in the morning that way I wouldnt forget. Also. She said it might help not speed up my sleeping and pain pills..
thoughts?

does it work better if it's taken all at once, or should you split up the doses?

Dr S. says in "the Lyme Disease Solution" that he prefers 600mg 1x / day.
Or you can just skip it and take the 300mg in the evening as usual.

If I were you I would call the pharmacist if you
are not happy with the llmd who is treating you.
One can always read the litterature that comes
with prescription drugs of any kind...this seems
to be overlooked a whole lot with our mental
foggish issues and or reading and comprehension
issues especially if the problems the patient is
having reading blocks of sentances.
I have had both rifampin accelerating and
retarding my pain medications....it would seem
no one seems to know one way or the other....
so good luck with that!
you yourself would be the best judge as to how
well or inefficient the rifampin might adversely
affect other medications....
good luck,
zman

You should DEFINITELY split it up, because the halflife of Rifampin is only 7 hours. Also, taking it once a day for for more than a few weeks will start causing adverse reactions.
If you take it twice a day and skip a dose, take it if it's within 4 hours. If not, just wait until the next dose.
After taking Rifampin, I tend to wait two hours before taking any other medications, to avoid the worst of the increased/decreased absorptions.
