How the heck am I supposed to manage all this? I feel like if I limit carbs/sugars to address the Candida that I have SEVERE hypoglycemic attacks. I'm talking to the point of slurring words and nearly blacking out, shaking, weakness, tingling. And then on top of that there is all my food allergies. I'm allergic to most things. I don't know how to do this! I wonder if a nutritionist/dietician could help me or if this would even be over their head.

Small piece of advice: Have LOTS of coconut oil! Not only is it one of the best therapies for hypoglycemia, but also it's one of the best candida killers. You really can't get too much coconut oil. It'll probably also help regulate your metabolism and give you lots more energy. Plus I've never heard of anyone being allergic to coconut oil.

Okay I just thought of one more thing: Are you dealing with doctors who are teaching you about healing the gut? Are you taking supplements for healing "leaky gut syndrome"?

My LLMD made it clear to me that most allergies will go away if you can heal the damage that was done to the intestines. Not that it's an easy job... but it is possible.

Thanks James. I am incredibly depressed and deperate over all this. I am a Mom and I need to get past this so I can be a better Mom.

My daughter had a friend over after school today and just minutes before they got off the bus I was in the midst of a huge reactive hypoglycemia attack. Had one when picking her up from school one day and had to ask the teacher if I could sit inside building until it passed.

And now, my face is burning as we speak from something I'm reacting to.

I'm sure leaky gut is part of this whole mess. My LLMD wants me to do a 2 week candida cleanse which was put on hold b/c I had to take 10 days of amoxicillin for an ear infection. Was the first time I've taken abx in about a year. After the cleanse he wants me to take Minocycline for suspected Klebsiella.

LLMD also started me on VSL #3 and S. Boulardii and Truflora and wants me to take fc-cidal after the CandiGone Cleanse.

Also on CORE right now for KPU, Magnesium Glycinate, Thyroid Extract, Glutathione (but just ran out), Fish Oil, Ester-C, Vitamin D, Subligual B12.

Mediterranean Diet (minus the wheat and the wine).

The South Beach Diet has some good points regarding glucose stability.

Lots of veggies, including leafy greens at every meal.

In moderation, SEEDS and GRASSES with good protein and fat ratio: Quinoa, Millet, Wild Rice; BLACK Rice. A little bit in soups rounds it out.

Good fats (Fish oil, OmegaBrite), Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Nuts (if you can)

Good PROTEINS & FATS will help prevent hypoglycemia drops (but the good seeds and grasses can help, too).

Lentil and Bean soups, with veggies being the majority of the bulk here but the beans really help stabilize blood glucose.

Flax Seed Meal for extra fiber. Lots of water.

Olive Leaf Extract can help control candida.

Just read CandiGone info. Says it also detoxes. I have been dealing with these severe symptoms since doing 30 days of Diflucan back in Feb. That is when the food allergies got out of control as well as increased bilirubin and hypoglycemia.

I guess I need to start CandiGone tomorrow. Just finished Amoxicillin yesterday.

There are still HUNDREDS of foods that you can eat, then.

I know it seems like you are allergic to everything, but once you start considering all the foods grown, you'll find LOTS and lots of vegetables, etc. I'll bet you find some you never even knew existed. I sure did.

You might call the closest natural foods grocery and schedule an appointment with someone in their education and training department - or the produce manager. See if they offer cooking classes and talk to the instructors.

Quinoa can be fixed many ways and there is also red and black varieties. Good to rotate.

About nuts, if you are allergic to nuts, you should also see if lentils and beans are okay for you. For some allergic to nuts, there is a cross reaction with the legumes.

FISH oil is tremendously important, then, if you can't have nut oils. You just consume a tsp. a couple times a day. Don't cook with it.

You might need to avoid KRILL oil, though as I think that is from crustations.

find the proteins you are not allergic to and eat regularly to help keep blood sugar stabilized.

My husband worked with a Pharmacist who helped heal the leaky gut and balance things out. He was helpful in looking at the whole picture to figure out what was going on.

My hubby has a list of food allergies also and he had the hypoglycemia.

He used to be an auto mechanic and he described his hypoglycemia attacks in mechanical terminology: "The wheels fell off!" And if it was really bad, "The wheels fell off, the axle fell out, and the doors feel off!" One time even "The engine fell out too!"

I almost forgot how bad it used to be. Its been awhile since he had such a severe episode. At the worst of it he had to carry snacks along everywhere he went - even at home. Sometimes he was waking at night needing to eat.

What helps for me is eating regularly througout the day. I can't go more than 1.5-2 hrs without some real sustenance. And I make sure that I'm eating proteins and good fats. This seems to keep my blood sugar regulated pretty well. I hope that as you're able to heal your gut (which is so vital) you're able to find these issues lessening for you...

Would cinnamon pills help?

I second James' thoughts on taking steps to heal the gut. A wonderful tool I found when I was in your boat was New Chapters' "SuperCritical Omega 7'.

It rebuilds mucous membranes and the lining of the GI tract. I would suggest you try 2 pills about 20 mins before a meal for a few days. And then cut back to 1 pill. Vitamin Shoppe sells it for about $20, and I'm telling you, if you try it and don't see a difference in a week, I'll buy the rest of the bottle from you.

Does anyone have any theories why my food allergies and hypoglycemia significantly increased at the tail end of my 30 day course of diflucan in Feb. and have been bad since?

Shouldn't my symptoms have gotten better when exactly the opposite happened?

I just did a quick search on old posts of yours and saw that in 2008 you had already been off of abx and doing well for 4 years!!!! Are you still well and off abx? I hope so!!!!!

Yup, still well - my 7 year anniversary is coming up next month.

Diflucan (and yeast) both can cause hypoglycemia. My guess is the Diflucan caused it and the yeast perpetuate it.

PS. I recall getting that kit a long time ago, probably the yr I went off abx (I was all about targeting yeast after) and I ended up feeling sooooo crappy, that I went to my LLMD, who promptly read the label and threw it in the garbage. The tincture has alcohol in it.
