I've been on a 2 week break from meds, and am about to hop back on tindamax/Zithromax. Has anyone heard of taking Zithromax ***** twice a day? My llmd said I can try it if I wish. Although I know it's a very high dose, I was curious if that dosage sounds normal to anyone preferably for about a week untill my next appt.

I believe the recommended dose of Zithromax for Lyme is **** daily.

You can read Dr. Burrascano's antibiotic and dosage recommendations starting on page 18 at http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

Zith can cause tinnitus and other vestibular / ear issues. So careful with a high dose.

I'm at **** and definitely have more ringing. Managable but there. I don't think I would want to go any higher...and I'm a "big guy".

Tinnitus is a symptom of lyme and bartonella. But it is also a side effect of Zith. My Zith tinnitus is different than lyme/bart.

I have had tinnitis since I started ABX -- Azith has always caused it to be worse;

and, at the higher dosages ****,

it gave me serious heart pounding.

'Would LOVE to try a higher dose of zith...my LLMD only has me at **** once a day. I think that is WAY too low a dosage. I think (and have thought all along) that I am being undertreated. I never had any ear issues with it...

I'm on ****--in my 5th week and taking it along with Flagyl and Malarone, arteminisin and Buhner herbs(5th month on those). Ringing in my left ear only started with lyme and co and has been unaffected(no better, no worse) by Zith.
Anxiety/depression through the roof. Herx of meds? Who knows.
