After 3 weeks of feeling lousy (nausea, dizzy, tingling in my arms, chest pain to name a few of the symptoms) I had a negative lyme test...10 days later a positive lyme test. I am presently on amoxicllin for 3 weeks...am on day nine...and still have aches and occasional dizzyness. Is this par for the course? Thanks.

This may not be long enough. Any reason why you are on amoxicillin instead of doxycycline?

I agree with lou. Also, what is your dosage? When I took amoxy, I was taking 2500 mg 3 times per day, along with Probenecid to keep it in my system longer. It takes VERY high dosages to hit Lyme.

You might want to find a Lyme specialist if your doctor isn't willing to treat you longer or with the right meds (doxycycline is the right first med unless you are a child).

Agree!

Lyme doesn't show up on early tests. It takes awhile to form antibodies. What you are experiencing is probably a "herx." That is when the abx kill the spirochetes, causing massive die-off. That is actually GOOD news, but the symptoms can be rough.

Keep going!!! and don't stop too soon!!!!
