I know this question has been answered many times.
can you feel at times like your symptoms are gone and feeling cured only to feel bad months or years later again.
my family doctor said it does not keep coming back.

Yes, Lyme/coinfection symptoms can come and go, vary in intensity or even location. Your doctor needs more education... Might try to contact a Lyme-Literate MD for help, they usually know quite a bit more about Lyme than regular MD's.

he did say with those results you were infected at one time.

Most of those are symptoms of low magnesium.
You can ease your symptoms and feel better by replacing the magnesium that the Lyme bacteria is using up.

My symptoms waxed and waned for years, until I was completely disabled from Lyme. I just have to say, even though the symptoms come and go, the infection has always been there, and will not go away without proper treatment. So if you were once infected, you are still infected.

Lyme disease is caused by several species of borrelia. Other speces of borrelia cause relapsing fever. It is not much of a leap to think that lyme is relapsing also.

- MAGNESIUM -
Carol is so right in that all those symptoms are common with low magnesium (and low magnesium is common in lyme).
Supplementing with a good mag. source might help a great deal. Three doses of magnesium a day - to bowel tolerance (about a total of 1,000 - 2,000 mg a day, divided dose is vital, with lots of water).
And, it may also still be important to see a good LLMD. But, as money is tight - see if the magnesium might just be the ticket.
Fish oil, too. Search: OmegaBrite - it's excellent.
But you need to know this:
Your family doctor is wrong about lyme not coming back. Lyme certainly can become chronic and wax and wane.
Find an ILADS-educated Lyme Literate MD (LLMD)who knows about various strains of Borrelia, as well as the other tick-borne (and other stealth)infections.
Combination treatment is need so as to address all forms of the borrelia spirochete. Antibiotics do not address all forms.
I'm not sure the doctor who you thought was a LLMD really was - as the statement he made would be rather odd for a real LLMD.
