Shiso/ginger/garlic juice has been the biggest reliever for my inflamed stomach/GI.
Here is the recipe
Shiso/ginger/garlic juice:
Shiso vegetable(the size of a half of an egg. You may find in a Chinese,Vietnamese, Korean or Japanese food store). 1 piece of fresh Ginger root(the size of the thumb) 3 Garlic cloves.
Use a blender to liquidize the above with 200ml water, let it sit for at least 30min, then mix with:
1 bag of Ginger Honey Crystals Instant Tea
add water to bring the volume to 1liter.
Once a day. I got symptoms relieved overnight.
Safety: Shiso have been used for vegetable by Asians. Garlic and ginger may be irritant to the stomach. You may omit them if you cannot stand them.
It is considered safe, however, you may want to do it slowly and ramp to the dose.

The following description was from Wikipedia. Perilla frutescens has been widely naturalized in the United States and part of Canada, from Texas and Florida north to Connecticut and into Ontario, and west to Nebraska. It can be weedy or invasive in some of these regions (http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=PEFR4#)
You may find it in some Asian supermarkets as vegetables.

I found before that garlic juice is helpful to the stomach/GI problem, so I included it here, hopefully to maximize the effect of the juice.
However, i am not sure if it's really helpful.
In Chinese medicine, Shiso is paired with ginger. So probably, just Shiso/ginger would be OK if you don't like garlic.

I use a lot of ginger tea for my stomach-so ginger is very good. I also like chamomile lea. My chinese herablist/accupuncturist also suggests drinking tumeric teas. I can't find tumeric root that I trust not to be contaminated from China with lead or whatever, so I use First Chapter Tumeric force, and instead of swallowing them, I bite them and swallow the liquid-spitting out the gelatin capsule
(How much gelatin do we all consume a day I wonder?).
The tumeric in liquid form is very good for soothing the stomach and liver.
My Dr. says to save money I can take tumeric spice and mix it with water and some honey and swallow it-but honestly I like the simplicity of biting the pills...later I will try the tumeric paste...
