Hi All, I have a quick question! My 17 yo daughter with Lyme just got diagnosed with a bad ear infection. She was prescribed Suprax 400 mg/day. This is a cephalosporin--does anyone have any experience with this class of drugs and Lyme??

I am concerned that she may Herx and we have a road trip to her LLMD in Missouri--leaving tomorrow! Any thoughts?? I mean, really, what are my options. . . ear infection, or herx. . . Gotta treat the ear. . . . Scary stuff!!!

My daughter herxed horribly with only 1/4 of a doxycycline--she just could not tolerate it. She has been ok with amoxicillin and zithromax.
Would really appreciate any feedback!!!

Also, I know to avoid steroids, but what about a steroid ear drop? I am thinking ok???

Not OK unless you HAVE TO. It will suppress her immune system.
