Hi,

DD has one copy of MTHFR. Dr. wants her to take folate.

Have tried to give her tiny doses, but she seems to have problems with most everything she tried to take.

Last night restarted folate with less than 1/4 tab. She said she got flushed and felt hard to breath , then her entire face went numb.

Anyone experience negative reactions with actifolate?

Thanks for your help.

Do you mean methylfolate? We have had no problems.

No problems with methylfolate, I am using Folapro. I have been taking it for 3 months. I am not noticing anything different, bad or good. I have one copy of MTHFR too.

From what I understand, with one copy of the gene it makes it difficult to convert folate into methylfolate. Are you using the converted methylfolate? Regular folate would not address the issue.
