My daughter was diagnosed with Lyme disease. She suffers with joint pain. Recently started taking Planquinal and after 2 days developed rib and chest pain. Is this herxing or lyme?

RoseFish... it could be Costochondritis from the

ABX causing the inflammation in that area or the Lyme itself causing inflammation.

I went to the hospital once, thinking I was having a heart attack and was diagnosed with it.

Serrapetase and enzymes helped. I hope she finds relief.

Costochondritis was my first symptom, and it was pretty freaky. Like fourwinds, I thought I was having heart problems.

One of the keys to figuring out if it is costo is whether it hurts to touch the rib. If it hurts to touch, it is inflammation (at least, that's what I have been told).

When I have flares, the rib pain always comes back. I was on a 10 day abx break last week due to low WBC, and I have had rib pain off and on since restarting. I will say that throughout treatment, my pain has become significantly less.

I use a heating pad on my ribs when it is particularly painful. I also get chiropractic adjustments and therapeutic massages to help.

Rose ,

I had chest pain in the under arm on the ribs and pericarditis before diagnosis

after starting treatment I started getting what I like to call deep bone pain and mainly in the sternum area.. never really associated it with a herx very much but it could be the bacteria being chased around.
