This is third treatment change in three months

Question how has it gone /worked for those who have taken it????

was it a Good turn around of illness, did it take long? What did it feel like on it? Nothing, bad then good, just took it and went on.??

I's important to know from anyone who's been through it.

It was the start of my turn around. I had to take Mepron for a long time at high dosages. However, I will say it changed my life.

So grateful. Alot of other things helped as well but Mepron was the turning point.

Work up to the dosage slowly. I was on it for over a year.

Katrina, about how long before you saw changes for the better? At the start dose of 5 ml or later.

Also there is a take fat/don't take fat post going on. I take 5ml oil with the 5 ml Mepron.

Is that enough.. Anything else you can think of that helped a lot????? Thanks

Nonna, I have never heard any controversy or disagreement about the need to eat fat when taking Mepron. That is universally recognized. I don't see the thread where you say this is discussed.

Here are some quotes for you:

"The bioavailability of Mepron is increased approximately 3-fold when administered with meals. In particular, fat has been shown to enhance absorption significantly. In one study, 18 volunteers received a single dose of 500 mg Mepron after an overnight fast and following a breakfast (23 g fat: 642 kCal). The mean (SD) AUC values were 93.845.7 and 28877 hr μg/mL, under fasting and fed conditions, respectively. In another volunteer study where Mepron was administered under fasting conditions, with 28 g butter (23 g fat) and 56 g butter (46 g fat) on toast, mean AUC values increased 2.7- and 4.0-fold, respectively, compared to the fasting state."

So, drugs.com is saying that fat dramatically increases the absorption of Mepron. If you don't want to waste your Mepron, you eat fat with it. Some say eat 23 grams of fat. The quote above shows that 46 grams is even better.

And, here is the same thing being said by a lyme doctor:

"Mepron is a liquid that looks similar to yellow paint and is taken as one to two teaspoons twice a day. It should always be taken with fatty food (such as nuts, cheese, or similar food), because it is much better absorbed by the body when it is ingested along with a fatty meal. "
