I'm now concerned that our house has toxic mold, possibly behind the front stucco. The basement smells musty and I'm beginning to realize that I feel worse on weekends(brain fog much worse) when I'm in the house than I do during the week, when time spent at home is limited.

So I started to do some brief research on mold testing, and came to the conclusion that, as usual, it's a complicated topic and there are many people out there who will be only too willing to separate me from my money.

Can anyone advise me as to what type of testing I should be looking for? There is a company that uses dogs, which sounds like a good idea, but I don't feel qualified to judge.
Sue

Do a search here on Lymenet on mold... there is tons of great info, sharing, etc. You've just come across a HUGE piece of the puzzle. This is not something that can be ignored.

The ERMI at http://www.emsl.com is about half the price of the one at mycometrics.

There are home mold tests - both air and tape lift - here: http://www.homemoldtestkit.com/

I know someone who is having the mold dogs come to her house this week. She is supposed to tell me how it goes. This sounds like a good plan to me if they also do testing once the dog finds mold - you want to know what kind of mold it is.

May health be with you!

Toxic mold was suppressing our immune systems, causing extreme pain, brain fog and magnifying symptoms. Four days after moving out, the healing began.
