...been treating for co's and Lyme for 15 months, suddenly loss use of my only good knee last nite, had removed imbedded tick from that area 3 wks ago. Am already on Zithromycin, trying to reach doctor since yesterday. Need to be able to walk and I am almost positive this new knee issue is from new lyme due to new tick bite...can I just add doxy to my regimine for now? I'm taking Zith and Mepron, but if a Lyme infection is new, isn't doxy a better treatment? Can't get a doctor to find out if it's ok to take doxy along with Zith. I'm going to just do it, I need to be able to walk. If anyone knows why one should not mix Doxy with Zith pls reply!
Thanks so much,
Beagle

It is absolutely ok. Also mino is ok with zith. Every macrolide with every tetracycline is ok.

Doxy and Zith is a fairly common combo.

I apologize, I should have mentioned Cefdnir (Omnicef) also. I finally got the Doctor and asked for Doxy since the knee issue is likely due to embedded tick pulled off just below the knee 3 wks ago, but she gave me Omnicef instead. So now if I go ahead with the doxy it would be Omnicef, Doxy, Zith & Mepron.
Sorry to be a pain, just gotta be able to walk this newly adopted dog asap!
Thks again,
Beagle
