My Doc believes Diflucan functions as a cyst buster because it interferes with membrane formation. I have seen some LLMD who have shared that opinion. Has anyone here used Diflucan along with Ceftin or a tetracycline abx or a macrolide abx as part of their LD treatment (not for yeast problems but as a LD treatment)? If yes, have you had success?

I did take Diflucan for 3 months alongside Doxycycline and Buhner herbs shortly after I was diagnosed [after long illness, not newly bitten].

I felt really rough throughout this combo, but tended to blame it on the Doxy. Had slightly raised liver enzymes partway through that may have been the Diflucan or the Samento [improved when I cut out Samento].

Three months of this did not achieve anything obvious, though it did keep yeast levels down! However, after having been ill for so long, I suppose I wouldn't have expected a swift recovery.

Funnily enough, I am on it again now for a month [3 times per week only] to try to clear fungus from my airways. My LLMD wanted me to pulse it because I am also on a gentle chelation programme and she doesn't want to overload my liver.

Have your liver enzymes checked regularly if you try it.

bv,
Google for Schardt protocol lyme.

Dr. Schardt in Germany has had success, I believe.

Carol, very interesting----I did Google it and read an interview with Schardt and he said "BB is on of the few organisms with 2 cell membranes". Apparently that is part of the reason he thinks Diflucan is helpful in treating BB.
