For a friend.........

Would MDL or Lab Corp show any positives for the Bartonella and Babesia infections if they are there? I realize that testing for these is not 100%, but I have a friend who wants to be tested, but HAS to go through her insurance. Any input here is really appreciated!

In my experience, Lab Corp will pick up Babesia but not Bartonella. Igenex won't necessarily pick these up either. both co-infections do not test well, IMO. Doesn't one of the doctors say, if you've got lyme, chances are you have co-infections?

There are other tests that may or may not be indicative of these. VEGF and EOS. Most doctors do not test for these but worth requesting anyways.

Hopefully you'll get more answers as people log on.

Labcorp did not find lyme babs or bart but found my erlichia....
bart was found by another lab
lyme found by Igenex which also did not find bart or babs.
Which is why its often a clinical diagnosis....not sure there is much difference between them.
