I have read what comes up when searching "electrolytes" on here, but I still need a little help.
I have been thirsty for MONTHS, all while drinking enough (but not too much!) water.
I've even had nights where I start consuming all the high salt foods in the house. I hate doing that but I am going CRAZY. (Don't think it does anything but bloat me anyway!)
My recent CMP showed low serum sodium, and high potassium. I understand that low blood sodium causes potassium to rise.(?)
I do sweat like crazy, not currently treating babs.
Open to any thoughts someone might have, but my specific questions are:
1. If using the "real salt" or Hunza Salt, can I just add some to a glass before drinking it? How much?
2. Do I need to worry about getting too much salt if using that + consuming a normal dietary amount of salt?
3. Help me?
I have had a headache non-stop for 6 weeks and am thinking this is the problem?
Llmd prescribed diamox before we got the lab work back. Would that not be safe to try now? I guess its a diuretic?

Electrolyte recipy from INK (dr K's institute):
use high mineral salt (I use Himalayan salt, but I suppose the Utah salts are good too!).
Get one bottle of water (3-4 cups), add bits of salt, succuss it (hit against a middle hard surface) for about 40-100 times, take a sip. If not salty, add more. It has to feel slightly salty for your taste. Succuss it again.
The amount of salt varies from person to person, and from DAY TO DAY. It seems the more defficient in electrolytes you are, the more salt you need to feel the slight salty taste.
drink the bottle durign the day, instead of pure water.
throw the table salt, refined salt in the garbage, they are bad for your health. Just use good mineral salts for food (or unrefined sea salt, even though I find it too dirty today so I avoid that too when I can).
Control blood pressure, some people are sensitive. If I only take the electrolyte recipy, I never had trouble with high blood pressure.
I did the salt-C protocol for weeks / couple of months, and did get high blood pressure from it. But the AMOUNT is so much higher than what we need for salting the bottle to get electrolytes.
I took electrolytes every day, while I was sick with lyme. For years, literally. Now I'm not sick anyomre, I get lazy to prepare it, but I still do it from times to times. I may do it today, because of your post!!

You can also get Himalayan salt chunks and make sole. You keep the chunks in a glass jar, just covered with water.
A spoonful of the liquid added to a glass of water will give you lots of electrolytes. It is not the same as drinking salt. Explanation here:

Check into mold issues. Took me years to learn that my excessive thirst/dehydration was related to mold. momlyme was the first one to tip me off. Then Dr. K confirmed it for me. (I think it's the lyme/mold combo that can cause this.)
Also, have your ADH (anti-diuretic hormone) levels checked. It turned out I was not producing enough.
Being dehydrated is not good. Nothing flows, can't properly get rid of toxins, etc. I wish I knew this years ago.... and got the help to correct it.
Oh, coconut water is good also.... if a little sugar is okay with you. It naturally contains electrolytes. You can also bathe with Himalayan crystal salts.
