I had my first massage in a long time two weeks ago.
I'm pretty sure this time around Lyme is making all my muscles seize up (some days I think I can feel them tightening and shrinking!)
So the massage was definitely uncomfortable at times, but nothing unusual.
I hurt for days afterwards!
Then today I tried again, because my work offers cheap shoulder/neck massages, and my neck has been killing me.
Same thing.
My lower back and legs are killing me! I haven't slept properly in 5 days.
I'm not on any prescription pain meds, so I've just been taking Advil at night.
But on nights like tonight, even Advil won't cut it.
The only position where my lower back doesn't hurt is on my stomach with a pillow squashed under my stomach supporting my back, or on my back with a pillow under my legs.
Going back on antibiotics has made it much worse- but I didn't have this back pain the first time around!
I though massage would help with my super achey muscles. Any other (not crazy expensive) options that might?
Flying to Mexico on Saturday. Planned the trip months ago, and now am just dreading the hours on a plane.

Lyme and co's sure do mess up the back and spinal alingement. I found a good lyme literate holistic chiro who did wonders working on my back and helping with meridian flow and detox. See if anyone in your area is "Brimhall" certified.

Brimhall sounds interesting. I'm going to look into it.
When I first became ill - I tried everything... Unfortunately, massage can make some of us worse. I used to be able to tolerate very deep massage when I was younger but after one session many years ago, I was in bed for 3 days.
I don't have any answers as to why this is but sometimes you have to alter your way of thinking about the body. Maybe some lighter type massage would help like lymphatic drainage or cranial sacral?

Even the lightest massage will mobilize toxins/neurotoxins and you have to prepare for detox agents, binding agents, etc. before this kind of treatment.
All toxins are mobilized -- toxic chemicals, toxic metals, dead proteins from die-off, etc.
Any physical stimulation can cause this and be prepared with lots of the above, including chlorella. Maybe even some Ibuprofen for discomfort. Often the neurotoxins start shifting downward into spine/ back and legs causing problems from there (swelling of feet and ankles, lower leg). Been there!!!! Prepare prior to any treatment of this type, even with cranial therapy, etc. Detoxing, detoxing has to be ongoing to eventually lighten the burden.
Take care.

Yes, very important to do lots of lymphatic drainage, take chlorella, do KMT, try out sauna and whirlpool before digging in with a massage, see how u do, etc. deep massage will stir up bugs out of tissues and u gotta be able to beat them with the electronics, herbs and antibiotics.

Can someone elaborate on how to use binders to remove mobilized toxins? I have the same problem every time that I use an infrared sauna--brain dead for days. I'm interested in charcoal and bentonite, but don't know when they should be taken and in what doses.

Should I take Chorella before or after to go for a massage?
What about when i exercise? Take binders before or after??
I already take chorella three times a day 20 min before eating. But if I'm going to release toxins with massage and exercise I want to make sure the timing is right.
