I've been feeling decent...until last night. I was completely fine until I suddenly had this fullness on the left side of my throat...I'm not sure hot to describe it, but I'll give it a shot.

It feels like the veins in my neck (left side) are going to burst...I can see it by looking in the mirror, I can feel it by placing my hand lightly over my neck...the left side of my face (mainly cheek and left temple have a tingling/numbness sensation, though I do have feeling....I've had several episodes where I feel like I'm going to pass out...I'm freezing cold...I have a fullness in my throat.

This lasted for several hours last night and has been coming and going all day today. It's very bothersome and though I'm trying not to panic, it's getting to the point that I'm wondering if I should make a trip to the ER. I don't want to go in for "nothing", yet...it's not normal to feel this way, and I'm worried it's something more.

Has anyone had this experience? What would you do?

Thanks.

Please, go to the ER.

If it's making you feel as if you are going to pass out and you can see it visibly, this is definitely something to get checked out and not try and explain away or blame Lyme or co-infection - until they check and clear you of blood clots or other blockage.

It's too close to your brain to risk.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I'm still here, feeling ok. The sensations are coming and going...a blood clot wouldn't present like that, would it? I've talked with my husband about going in, but I would have to drive about 1/2 hour, as our local hospital blows. He'd have to stay with the kids, no family around. Ugh.

I ended up going into the ER this afternoon. Spent 4+ hours there. The doc's initial reaction was to tell me everything was neurological. Said I was having neuropathy and that I needed to see a neurologist as soon as possible.

He then asked why I was taking Zithromax. I hesitated, but ended up telling him that I was being treated by a physician for Lyme Disease. He then said..."Oh, it all fits. Lyme can cause all of your issues, it's a connective tissue disorder, etc. You have nerve damage."

So, that was interesting. He did a Head CT "to check for a tumor" and that came back fine. No sign of stroke, seizure, MS, etc.

He gave me a referral to a neurologist, sent me on my way.

I'm relieved and frustrated. I'm exhausted.

Thanks to all who commented! I appreciate your advice and thoughts.

At least he didn't snd you away with tranquilizers and didn't minimize Lyme. I hope you're better. Good luck with the follow up. Be well.
