Which ones would you pick?

DS, is taking Mepron and Minocycline for Bart and Babs. DD, is taking Doxycycline only for Bart.

Both have had extensive labs in the last month. Just purchased all our meds yesterday. He takes numerous supplements. She only takes Vit. D and multi vitamin. As I look at all of the bottles, I think is this all really necessary???

We have started different ones at different times based on different peoples recommendations. His LLMD really only recommends the tryptophan and tyrosine.
He seems to benefit the most from L-Tryptophan and L-Tyrosine. And of course, probiotics.

We are quickly going broke! I know that others are going through the same thing. How do you pick and choose???? If you were to pair it down to the essentials, what would they be?

I think it is wise to take supps that decrease inflammation such as krill oil.

Have you read the ones that Dr B recommends in his paper?....starts on page 27:

Transfactor Multiimmune (I think that is how it is spelled).

I think it entirely depends on which organs are being affected. For me the following are essential, and I agree they are too expensive, and some may not be needed at all by many of you.

For example, Benfotiamine totally keeps my uveitis in remission, but if you don't have uveitis, you don't need it.

Magnesium citrate
L-tryptophan
L-glutamine
Probiotics
Hylaluronic acid/chondroitin/collagen combo
Neptune Krill Oil
Vitamin D3
Benfotiamine
Prelief

As much as Burrascano says in his protocol (free download, google it, but you want the 16th edition).

I take the vitamins, and most of the minerals/enzymes and of course lots of probiotics (not the brands he has listed). I just started taking most of what he suggests, and I have to say, I feel better (felt better within a couple hours). Might be TMI, but my urine isn't as acidic as it was either.

I guess if I had to choose due to limited funds, definitely a multivitamin, some B-12, C, D and magnesium. I just started taking milk thistle for my liver but you could always drink lemon water for detox.

I personally believe that lyme depletes vitamins and minerals from us, so whatever you can afford is better than nothing at all.

I don't think Burrascano lists zinc, though. I think I was zinc deficient (again, lyme sucks everything out of us). Zinc really helps me feel better, especially this time of year.

P.S. I don't take any fish oil whatsoever and my CRP (c reactive protein) which is an inflammatory marker has gone way down (normal). Think it was the coconut oil (I just cook a meal with it). I also take a tsp of flax oil.

I think it probably depends on the individual - if your CD57 is low, then Transfer Factor Multi Immune, if your vita D is low, then a Vita D, etc.

For me personally, fatigue is my worst symptom and I felt a noticeable improvement when I started CoQ10. But I'm sure it's different for everyone.

I do think that probiotics are a must for anyone on antibiotics.

PS - Instead of a liver support supplement, my doctor said to eat lots of broccoli, cauliflower, etc. I did and my liver settled down.

I was having energy problems and started taking saccharomyces boulardii probiotic, and CoQ10 100mg and noticed improved energy. The low energy was probably because of yeast problems caused by abx.
