Went to Lyme NP on Monday. After pulling tick off near knee a month ago, that knee suddenly went bad worse than my other one - (failed tkr) So she says stop mempron and would talk to the Dr. about what to do re new Lyme Infection. Never called back or answered my emails. You guys know a lot so here's question: If my Lyme was "waning" but co infections and viral load is keeping me from getting better; then get new Lyme infection settled into knee...is it better for the Lyme knee to take Doxy or Cefdir (Omnicef) I have been using Doxy but runnin low. I have been on Zithro; Mepron; Plaquenil; which is best to add to likely new lyme introduced to knee: Doxy or Cefdir? Been using 4 Doxy pills per day for over a week just to try to get my knee working since the other knee is useless. Would you guys take the Omnicef (Cefdir) instead of the Doxy for likely new Lyme infection in knee? I have stopped the Mepron due to depression but do notice old symptoms coming back - of course no way to tell if the sick flulike weak illness is due to Babesia or new Lyme.
Doxy is best for new Lyme infection, right? Is Cefdnir also good for new tick bite or only good for late stage>

Thanks,

Beagle

...sorry, I know I asked this question recently and got a lot of information, but still was not clear on the consensus of whether it's best to treat new Lyme introduced to knee a month ago with Docy or Cefdnir.

thanks again
