Strange. I had put a post backk to you yesterday but it never posted I guess.
I started at 300mg BID.
I feel pretty good today. have been diligent about detox protocols and I swear it is making all the difference.
I ut a detox footpad on my tips of my right toes last night because well the numbness but when you read the relexology chart, the tips f the toes link back to the brain and head.
So I figured definitely worth a sshot. You should have seen how black the pad came off in the morning.
And, the feeling is nearly all the way back in my toe!
I am experiencing mostly muscle stuff as far as feeling like I need to stretch over and over and when I do, Its amazing the popping and cracking that is loud it is audible.
Things are definitely shifting around. I am also having alot of Sinus stuff going on as well.
But honestly I feel pretty well today. However I am prepared fr the Neuropsych stuff start to show at some point or another.
That was a ge problem for me for years. although I had attacked it with a Doxy/Diflucn combo back almost tw years ago now.
But I know it's still in there.
It's very comforting having you to bounce stuff off of as we are on the same protocols with the same person.
Thanks for checking in with me.
How are YOU doing? What are you on now?

Hey Lucky,
Glad to hear you are adusting to the Rif, and you feel your big toe again.
I had forgotten about the sinus stuff. Before treatment I always seemed to have a runny nose and frequent sneezes. Over time it had almost gone away, but flared up again upon starting the Rif. Rif also made my feet burn like a bad sunburn from to much time at the beach.
So when are your plans to go full dose on the Rif? And will Doxy be added later as well?
As for me... My liver enzymes that were high on my regular Dec 1 labs spiked even more on my Dec 14 re-test. Ended up off ABX for total of 11 days.
Then went ahead and had the PICC line installed Monday Dec 19 just in time to see if Rocephin would mess with my xmas. So far so good and Zith was added back to the mix, too.
I had my Labs done again on Tuesday and am expecting results today (maybe), but I'ld rather not get that call and hope all is back in range.
Buried in that article I sent you, Dr Anderson wrote that Bart does elevate liver enzymes so I hope it was just a Bart flare or die-off.
Anyways keep up with detox... drink lots of lemon water and try some de-caf green tea also.
Never tried the detox footpads, it's not a macho RI guy thing 8^)

Hahaha. Def not macho all that holistic garbage. It is pretty insane though.
I am at full dose right now I think. My bottle says 300mmg twice daily. Maybe your dose was higher being that you are a guy and perhaps heavier than I?
I will be adding doxy in probably tomorrow. I just wanted to see how my body handled the Rif alone t start.
You got the PICC line eh? Please keep me posted as I am onto that next.
I have heard so many mixed reviews.
I have always had high liver enzymes. By always I mean for the past several years on and off treatment.
I would go to the er for severe abdominal pain and vomiting etc and my enzymes would always come back high.
I would also usually have an inflamed liver upon palpation.
Looking back now I realize this was the Bart.
Also, don't know if you have tried it but Benedryl seems to work great for night time Herxes. I slept and it lessened it for sure.
hope your labs come back with good news.

lucky,
You jumped right in with full dose... congratulations. Some folks start at only one 300 mg capsule a day for the first week or so until they have adjusted well.
Good luck with the Doxy, smart move to stagger them a bit.
No call from the boss lady yet, so if she's in the office and she's seen the report I hope the numbers are going back lower in the right direction.
We were planning to stay on the Rif along with Zith and Rocephin, but may not be wise until liver settles down.
