HI,
I have been smelling mold in my home for several months & we finally discovered the source & am scared. My 15 year old & I have had chronic lyme for 4+ years. Done hbot several times & felt better, relapses. I assume this mold blowing through my ac vents has made things bad. I have a LLMD appt tommorow & holistic Dc next week. What ????'s should I ask
I hope these picts have donwloaded properly. I have filed a claim with insurance since we believe it may have started about 2 years ago when our waterheater flooded our garage & is right next to air handler. The hvac company will start with the problem next week. Any advice will HELP :-) [Frown] - ]web page[/URL]

You might have just found the reason you guys have sick for so long.
I told my LLMD about the mold I found in my house. He told me to do an ERMI test on the house, then ran tests on me Shoemaker style.
You really need to test the house and find out what kind of mold you have. That will determine what to do next.
Best to you.

This MD tells of her ordeal with mold & MCS - and how she got so much better:

3/4 of the way down:

Identifying Environmental Illness and Mold Exposure in Patients with Persistent Lyme Disease.

From the ILADS 2011 Conference in Toronto.

Lisa L. Nagy, MD Video $15.

(She is NOT A LLMD, however, she understands the kind of toxicity issues faced by many with lyme. She did not have lyme but overcame very serious MCS. She spoke at the recent ILADS conference.

It's a great presentation to see. I saw the video stream during the conference. The DVD can be ordered.

The ERMI test is a kind of test they use to identify what kind of mold and how much.
I used EMSL lab because they are the cheapest. It was like 165.00 for the test. It takes 5 days to get results back.

One of these days I need to get a lesson on how to make a link, because I would make one for the lab. I just started really using the computer when I got sick.

hello, I just was @ my endocrnlgst & he gave me a script for formaldihyde to use.

I have chem sensitivies, so when we put the formaldehyde in bowls through out the house, we will go away for 48hours, then air it out really well.

The book "The yeast connection" by William G. Crook,MD has the info in it.

Of course I can't find the paper or the book(with the directions on it) that my Dr. gave me!! oh, but to have my memory back. hope that will help you. Mold is such a bugger.

What did your LLMD have to say? Is he/she familiar with mold illness?

I agree with RCI - you need an ERMI (mold remediators are not familiar with this test) and probably the blood work Shoemaker recommends on you and your son, including the HLA genotyping to determine whether you can detox mold biotoxins.

www.mycometrics.com is another ERMI company, tho not as cheap as the one mentioned.

We went through this process last year and it can be overwhelming. PM me if you want support or more info.

It is a good thing you found this!
