hey everyone! glad i found this website. i fully intend on seeing an LLMD, but was wondering if anyone knew much about these results? was wondering if there are certain coinfections linked to these "reactive bands"? does this look like a serious case of lyme?

Thank you both!!! It definitely feels like lyme too... totally terrible. I haven't been feeling like myself for months. I will be seeing my naturopath later in the month for this (as he is very familiar with it and testing for confections) and in the meantime my regular doc gave me doxy hyclate. I don't think im ready for this long road, but it doesn't look like I have much of a choice. Bless you all, I hope you feel better soon!

Which lab did your Western Blot? IgeneX Lab in Palo Alto, CA lists two more Lyme-specific bands--31 and 34--than LabCorp or Quest. Be sure to be tested for co-infections through a good lab such as IgeneX.
Make sure the dose of Doxy you are taking is in the range for Lyme treatment. Many Lyme knowledgeable doctors follow Dr. B's treatment guidelines at http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf Antibiotics and dosages are discussed starting on page 18.
There are some important tips to know about taking Doxy. Do not have any dairy, iron, or magnesium within two hours of taking it or it will not be absorbed properly. If it makes you nauseous, eat something substantial and non-dairy before taking it. Avoid the sun. You can get a severe burn in minutes even when wearing sunscreen.
Do not lay down for at least an hour after taking Doxy or you can ulcerate your esophagus. This is very painful. Drink a full glass of water when you take it for the same reason. Whenever you take any antibiotics, make sure you take high-quality acidophilus. The best kind to get are refrigerated and have a high-culture count. Most health-food stores have them.

Probably Quest. Not LabCorp. And it is 31 and 34 not 34 and 39.

hey everyone!! thank you so much for caring and taking the time to respond, i really truly appreciate it. this is all like greek to me... i've been "positive" for lyme in the past, but these new symptoms and lab results are unlike anything i've had before. my whole body aches, my head hurts and sometimes feels like something is crawling in it, i'm in a total brain fog 24/7, and i'm just really scared. it's pretty bad. my doctors just threw doxy hyclate at me and called it a day... somehow i know that isn't going to be enough. luckily i've been seeing an ND for a while who is very familiar with lyme who i will see in a few weeks, but any literature in the meantime is good. i'm so lost and i don't even know where to begin. to answer your questions lets see - the lab that did my bloodwork was indeed, Quest. The missing band that i forgot to include (39 kd (igg) band) was non-reactive.
