OK, I know it can be dangerous to pulse rifampin because this specific antibiotic can cause "flu like syndrome" if used intermittently.
That said, I've used it intermittently and not had the problem.
Rifampin so far is awesome for me, it kicks the butt of Bart, but I can't stay on it long term as after about 3 weeks, I start to get elevated liver enzymes.
So my doc has said I can pulse it, which sounds great to me, because each time I pulse it, I feel I make progress.
A concern I have though is bacteria building resistance to a pulsed drug, i.e., stronger rifampin-resistant bart crops up.
Anyone have experience pulsing rifampin?
Thanks

that seems like an interesting idea. i take Rifampin too but have never pulsed it. I know you can pulse certain abx. I wonder why Rifampin would be different?
