This is at least my fourth or fifth time I have been on Flagyl. The very first time I took it back in May I had such an intense herx that I was ready to head to the ER. I waited it out and felt like a new person afterward! I have been on this drug multiple times since and I have never again had a herx so intense but the one thing I do notice is an increased heart rate. My heart rate doubled after taking my first dose today...up to 128 at rest. No pounding. I took a metoprolol and it has calmed down. The pattern seems to be that this will all subside in a matter of hours. Anyone else get tachycardia as a Flagyl herx?

Thats a herx all part of getting better. If your heart is strong and you have had it checked out I wouldn't worry about HR or palps. You have to get through this no matter how long it takes to get better.

Every 28 days like clockwork for several months. I'd wake up with a pulse of 120+.

Koo, I was on Flagyl multiple times too and the last time on it I developed palpitations that won't go even though I stopped the Flagyl. I can't be sure it was caused by the Flagyl but I think it was.

During my initial herxing (doxy & flagyl) I had extreme bp changes (both #s dropped by about 50) and a resting heart rate of around 140. Thankfully it went away within a week, though my bp rebounded and remains high even with the beta blocker.
It definately freaked me out too
