I get this feeling of a lump in the left side of my throat...at one point it was so bad it was hard to swallow. It had been gone for the past 6 months and now it is back.
It is always when I swallow and sometimes I feel in even when I'm not swallowing. It almost makes me feel like I will choke when I eat.
Tests have ruled out that it is anything such as lymph nodes, thyroid or a true lump in my throat.
Has anyone had this? What co-infection might it be?

Try massaging the muscle in the front to side of your neck. I think it's called the sternocleidomastoid muscle. Google that for a picture of where it is.
I have had something similar to what you describe and after a few days this helped.
Another possibility is reflux that has irritated a part of your throat. I had that as well.
I don't know which infection causes this. A friend of mine also had something similar and she doesn't have lyme at all.

I cannot say for sure, but suspect it ties in with either Babesia or other parasites or both -- as all throat issues for me become much more pronounced in that region when I'm treating either.
IMO alot of the infections LOVE hanging out in the neck and jaw region.

Bartonella can do that and activates every time another infection flares.My son get this when he gets on top of bartonella STREPTOCOCUS.

I get this as well! It comes, feels like a big lump when I swallow and then it will go away for awhile only to return again later.
I do think it's BART related even though I've never tested pos. for it (but definitely have Bart symptoms) I also think Bart is what caused awful scarring of my vocal chords and larynx making it impossible for me to raise my voice or sing anymore.

Mine is on the right side and it sort of feels like my right side neck muscles are swollen and chunky, pushing on my esophogus (sp). I have had ultrasounds, swllowing studies, CT scan and everything shows normal. It is THE WORST and really scary.
I have treated bart agressively and this has nto changed so I wonder if it might be babs...

I think most of the coinfections, as well as Lyme itself, can cause this.
I have had problems swallowing since I started treatment in 2008.
It got so bad after Japanese Knotweed, that I was completely unable to swallow anything for about a year (had to be fed through a PICC line in my arm).
Magnesium, heating pad, not being too aggressive with treatment are suggestions I can think of...
What helped me regain the ability to swallow at least solids was chewing lots and lots of chewing gum for hours and hours.
It worked all the jaw and cheek muscles until something finally started working again.
I still have problems swallowing liquids, and every now and then get some muscle spasms in my throat that make the under-side of my chin ache and make it hard to swallow solids and liquids, but it passes after a day or two and I always have managed to get something hot to go down.
Others I know of who have swallowing problems also say that either ice water or something hot will help relax everything and make the swallowing a lot easier.
It will take trial and error to discover what will work best for you.
