Could anyone tell me thier experience with Cholystramine?

Had crazy bad neuro symptoms (thought I had given myslef ALS and Parkinsons) after my 1st month into treatment of Doxy. Felt as if I was litterally killing myself!

Took myself off of meds and now after a month, I am finally starting to feel back to my "normal yet sick" self (still in bed, but tremors are getting better, I can walk again and the feeling in my body is returning).

I am guessing I was sick from the extensive amounts of neurotoxins that built up in my body after a month of treatment? (Some also suggested that Bab or bart may have then decided to rear it's ugly head too).

Now that I feel like I am not dying anymore, I am starting treatment again. This time my LLMD wants to slowly add Mepron (I think, know this will help the bab/bart too, if that was the issue) and Zythro in addition to the doxy.

YIKES! Im scared!! I got SOOOO much sicker just from the doxy!

Ive read about how adding CHOLYSTRAMINE can help bind those neurotoxins from reentering your bloodstream~ how helpfull this can be.

BUT, I've also read how one can HERX really badly just on the Cholystramine alone.

I am interested in trying it when I start back up on my meds this week... but am not sure if it'll be a help or onlyl make me sicker yet?

What's your experience???

What else might I do, that's GENTLE, to help rid myself of those nasty neurotoxins when I start back on my abx?

THANKS ALL!

I took the cholestramine and other than trying to fit it in between all my other meds n supplements .....

The biggest thing was it made my bladder (IC) flare up and the pain was horrid, so I stopped it.

Sorry I can't help you more. Have you searched this site for previous posts?

It made me Herx. Didn't kill anything, but def. started the Cytokines in motion.

Remember, the Cytokines are the inflammatory response to whatever, usually Toxins, Bacteria, Viruses, etc.

I am taking so many things for Inflammation now and holding treatment until I get things settled down.

This is why I can't go more then 5 days of Mepron, or Rife for more then a few min.

Still paying the price from my Long Rife session, now almost 3 weeks ago. I'm certain that started another Cytokine cascade.

If you Herx from CSM, consider Actos. I was Rx'd this drug, but it's not covered, so I'm sticking with Natural ways: Bromalaine, Quercitin, Tumeric, Omega 3, Flaxseed Oil, etc.

nonna, are you actively treating then while taking it? does it help you as our doctor insists you take it? (My llmd new nothing about it... she's is all about straight abx until better. I researched it on my own and insisted to her that i try it.)

Lymetwister, I got SO sick on just doxy- had to take a break to detox and let my body calm down too. but now that Im starting to treat again, mepron is one of the meds my llmd wants me to take along WITH doxy and Zythro- Im very scared, being how sick i got on just doxy alone.

You said you can't go more than 5 days on Mepron? Do you suggest I pulse some of these (Mepron, Doxy, Zythro)? How should I do it? (My LLMD isnt helpful in those area's- she just wants me to add the new one each week at take continuously until well. I KNOW I wont be able to tolerate that!)

I was HOPING the Cholystramine would HELP? Should I maybe start with that alone for a week first and see how I do?

I also am now taking D(3), FishOil, and UltraClear for Inflammation- hoping now that those things are in my system, this go round of abx will be better?
