My face broke out with horrible (swollen skin, tiny bumps etc) acne almost over night. I went to the dermatologist and he said it's from all the antibiotics and for whatever reason my yeast went crazy and is trying to get out through my skin.

My skin is clearing up with anti fungal topical cream, but I want to know how to prevent this from happening again. I take asedolphis, but I am curious if you guys use anything else. I've been on antibiotics for over 5 years!

Thanks,

Suggestions for anti-candida stuff:

Oregano oil

Thyme

Garlic

Coconut oil

Caprylic acid

Antifungal tannins (zinc tannates)

Probiotics, including S. boulardii (yeast probiotic that is especially good at battling Candida)

Biotin (prevents yeast/candida from reverting to spore form thus enabling one to actually get rid of the infection instead of just suppressing the symptoms) ~ may need upwords of several mg. daily (one product I took was called Biotin-8, made by Thorne Research...)

Some like Olive Leaf Extract...I personally believe it to be less potent than Oregano oil...but that's just my personal opinion...

Digestive Enzymes, especially cellulase (helps break down or "digest" the candida)

Prescription anti-fungal medications (taken orally).

Tea tree oil - topical use only! - is good for fungal rashes.

OLE (Olive Leaf Extract) -- not all brands are equal. Some are not very good at all, really.

I've used both of these OLE brands, at different times. Each worked exceedingly well to prevent candida totally during antibiotics. But two months is the longest I've been on abx since lyme was diagnosed.

I started this a couple days BEFORE the abx. I think that matters but, still, better late than never.

Still, after spending 20 years on and off abx for all sorts of undiagnosed, unspecific infections, with terrible candida resulting from that (which no doctor ever told me about) . .. it was a miracle that ANYTHING would work years later.

I had been on Diflucan for 6 weeks, daily, at one time and I have to say that later the OLE was BETTER. And easier on me.

It can cause a herx at first, so start low and slow. But I was up to 16 capsules of Seagate a day and did just fine.

And I've used it often over the years, even when not on abx. It's a fabulous herb. It works great for my sinuses.

PROBIOTICS are still necessary, but timed apart from both OLE and from ABX. Best to keep all three timed apart from each other.

Read what Razzle and Keebler says above. Good info.

And....

Acidopholis is not enough. You need at least 100 billion a day. I took Ultimate Flora Critical Care twice daily and a clean diet.

Now I am taking VSL 3 which is 450 Billion per packet !! Sometime twice per day. If you can get a Dr. to prescribe this it would probably help you a great deal. Also it sounds like you need diflucan. Any one I know who has taken just acidopholis has gotten a yeast infection. It is not enough.
